Purdue vs North Carolina College Basketball Bet

The Hall of Fame Tip-Off tournament features four highly talented teams facing off at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. Villanova and Tennessee face off early on Saturday, followed by a heavyweight battle between Purdue and North Carolina.

My college basketball betting season has been up and down but overall successful so far, with a 21-14 record going into the weekend. Purdue is scoring nearly 95 points per game through its first three games, albeit against lesser opposition than North Carolina. Hubert Davis’s Tar Heels defense is letting up a surprisingly high 79 points per game against an even weaker start to their schedule. If North Carolina keeps their pace of play up and maintains a similar defensive effort to what we’ve seen, Purdue should score 85+ and maybe even flirt with triple digits.

On the offensive side, Davis seems to be maintaining Roy Williams’ offensive philosophy of running the floor, getting offensive rebounds for easy second chance points, and getting to the free throw line for easy points. I have a feeling the best rebounding duo in the nation - 7’4 Zach Edey and 6’10” senior Trevion Williams - will pose quite a challenge to North Carolina on the glass. And while it’s not quite Michigan-level defending without fouling, Matt Painter’s Purdue squads always tend to do a good job of preventing their opponents from getting too many freebies at the charity stripe.

Best Bet: Purdue -6 -105 vs North Carolina
