Cooper Kupp and Justin Jefferson Player Prop Prediction

Unfortunately, we dropped the Diontae Johnson last week, as the entire Pittsburgh Steelers passing game flopped against the Tennessee Titans last week. We’re moving on to two of the best young receivers in the NFL this weekend. Below, you’ll find a Cooper Kupp and Justin Jefferson player prop prediction for Week 16.

The Minnesota Vikings will host the Los Angeles Rams at U.S. Bank Stadium this weekend. The Vikings are playing for a wild card playoff spot, as they currently sit at 7-7 through 14 games. Los Angeles, on the other hand, is tied with the Arizona Cardinals for the lead in the NFC West. They boast a 10-4 record thus far. The Rams are currently -3 point favorites, while the game total is set at 49 points.

Cooper Kupp and Justin Jefferson Player Prop Prediction

Cooper Kupp & Justin Jefferson over 174.5 combined receiving yards (-110)

Cooper Kupp and Justin Jefferson are two of the best young receivers in the NFL. They’ve each flashed elite potential throughout the week, and I’ll break them down individually throughout this article.

Kupp’s been the best receiver in the NFL this season. Through 14 games, he’s posted 122 receptions for 1,625 yards and 14 touchdowns on 164 targets. He boasts a 74.4% catch rate with 13.3 yards per reception.

Kupp’s averaging 116.1 yards per game this season. He’s posted 92+ receiving yards in 13 of his 14 games this season. He’s also posted 120+ yards in 4 of his last 5 games. Kupp only struggled once this season, posting 64 receiving yards on 5 receptions against the Arizona Cardinals.

He gets an elite matchup against the Minnesota Vikings this week. Minnesota’s struggled with air yards and yards after the catch in 2021. Overall, they’ve given up the second-most airYAC in NFL this season. They also rank in the bottom-six of the league in air yards and yards after the catch allowed this season.

Surprisingly, Kupp’s only seen 32.8% of Los Angeles air yards, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. It’s still one of the higher rates in the league, although it’s lower than expected. Overall, he’s seen 1,394 air yards with an 8.5 aDOT. Kupp’s also averaging an elite 6 yards after the catch per reception, which sits 1.3 yards above the expected.

Jefferson’s in the midst of an elite season as well. He’s posted 89 receptions for 1,335 yards and 9 touchdowns on 137 targets through 14 games. He boasts a 65% catch rate with an outstanding 15 yards per reception.

Jefferson gets a great matchup against Los Angeles, who’s struggled with yards after the catch throughout the season. Overall, they’ve given up 1,757 yards after the catch. Los Angeles has allowed 3,469 airYAC this season, which is roughly average in the NFL.

Jefferson’s seen a league-high 45.2% of Minnesota’s air yards this season. He’s seen 1,699 air yards with a 12.4 aDOT. More importantly for this matchup, he’s averaging 4.9 yards after the catch per reception. That’s 0.7 higher than the expectation.

Kupp and Jefferson continue to find elite success. Kupp’s the consistent option of the duo, while Jefferson adds elite upside. This combined receiving yards prop is entirely too low. Although Jefferson isn’t the most consistent option, this duo combined for 311 yards. They should find success in a matchup against each other as well.
