Since we are amid our College Football Futures series, we wanted to provide our top calls for the College Football Playoff.

The odds are not in your favor, but if you can claim free money, you might as well take advantage. Alabama has an abundance of talent on both sides of the ball. Bryce Young, the winner of the Heisman Trophy, returns to right a wrong as Alabama fell to Georgia in the College Football National Title game. Will Anderson Jr. was arguably the best player in the country a season ago and returns to stake the same claim this season. Anderson Jr. leads a dominant defensive unit. Doubting a motivated Nick Saban and a motivated Alabama Crimson Tide will cause you to go broke. I'm taking Alabama to once again advance to the College Football Playoff.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are in the same boat as the Alabama Crimson Tide. You would like to see better odds here, but we know the Buckeyes are a slam dunk to reach the College Football Playoff. CJ Stroud is the favorite to take home the Heisman Trophy as he leads an impressive offensive juggernaut that includes Jaxon Smith-Njigba and TreVeyon Henderson.
The Buckeyes also benefit from a Big Ten conference that looks underwhelming. Every possible contender, including the Wolverines, is taking a step back in 2022. The Buckeyes should have no issue running the table in the Big Ten and coasting to the College Football Playoff.
The Georgia Bulldogs are our third 'chalk pick' in our top four. The defending College Football champs did lose a ton of talent on both sides of the ball. George Pickens, Jordan Davis, and Nakobe Dean highlight the standouts who have moved on to the NFL.
The cupboard is far from bare. The Bulldogs recruit as well as any team in the country and bring back veteran leadership that will carry them through a season where many will doubt whether they can repeat.
I don't see Georgia upsetting Alabama this time, but the SEC has built such a stronghold in college football that they warrant two teams advancing to the College Football Playoff.
USC represents the first longer odds on the slate we are willing to take. The thought process behind the decision has some to do with an emerging USC program and the landscape around college football.
When I look at the ACC and Big XII, I see two conferences that are watered down, and I don't believe their lack of strength of schedule will impress the committee. Even if Clemson wins the ACC, I don't believe they will receive the same treatment they did years ago. They aren't the same caliber of team.
When I look at the Pac-12, I see three top ten caliber teams that will battle for the conference title: USC, Utah, and Oregon. If there is a team that can emerge with one loss from this group, I believe they will advance to the College Football Playoff.
My money is on Lincoln Riley and Caleb Williams reconnecting in Southern Cal and advancing the Trojans to the College Football Playoff.
