NFL 9/11/22: Underdog Prop Bets--Early Slate

The NFL season is so close that we can taste it! It is time to lock in our favorite prop bets for Week #1. We focus on the early slate at 1 PM, where many intriguing match-ups catch our attention.

JAMEIS WINSTON- 243.5 Passing Yards at Atlanta: UNDER

I expect the New Orleans Saints to throttle the Atlanta Falcons in the opener. While this is great news for Saints fans, for fantasy purposes, this will neuter the upside of Jameis Winston. Take the Under.

ELIJAH MITCHELL- 68.5 Rushing Yards at Chicago: OVER

The 49ers want to ease in their 2nd-year QB Trey Lance. The 49ers will run the ball heavily in this one, a recipe for success for Elijah Mitchell.

JUSTIN FIELDS- 235.5 Total Yards vs. San Francisco: OVER

Justin Fields will be running for his life all afternoon. The Bears will be chasing throughout--meaning the Bears will have to place their hopes on Justin Fields. Take the Over.

NAJEE HARRIS- 93.5 Total Yards at Cincinnati: OVER

The Bengals were one of the defenses to target in 2021, and I see no reason to go away from it here. Najee Harris is an integral part of the Steelers' offense as a runner and receiver.

JOE MIXON- 92.5 Total Yards vs. Pittsburgh: UNDER

The Bengals have spoken openly about committing to a running back by committee approach, including Joe Mixon, Samaje Perine and Chris Evans. The Bengals are also likely to be more pass-heavy. I'll lean into the Under.

JALEN HURTS- 269.5 Total Yards at Detroit: OVER

The Eagles' offense will open it up in 2022. Jalen Hurts--smash play at this number.

A.J. BROWN- 68.5 Receiving Yards at Detroit: OVER

The Eagles have gone out of their way to focus on A.J. Brow in the off-season. I see no reason to suggest it won't carry over into the opener.

T.J. HOCKENSON- 45.5 Receiving Yards vs. Philadelphia: OVER

The way to beat the Eagles' defense is to attack their linebackers in coverage. Hockenson should be in store for a big day.

TYREEK HILL- 80.5 Receiving Yards vs. New England: UNDER

We know the Patriots take pride in taking away a team's top offensive option. I believe the Pats have prepared for Tyreek in the opener. Take the Under.

LAMAR JACKSON- 300.5 Total Yards at New York Jets: UNDER

The Ravens are going to smash the Jets. There is no reason to put Lamar Jackson in harm's way in the 2nd half. The Ravens ice the game away with their running backs.

ELIJAH MOORE- 53.3 Receiving Yards vs. Baltimore: OVER

There will be garbage time aplenty for the Jets' offense against Baltimore. Elijah Moore should clear this number with relative ease.

CHRISTIAN KIRK- 59.5 Receiving Yards at Washington: OVER

Trevor Lawrence and Christian Kirk have developed a connection in the off-season. Expect Kirk to do well in his debut in Jacksonville.

ANTONIO GIBSON- 76.5 Total Yards vs. Jacksonville: OVER

With Brian Robinson Jr. out for the first few weeks of the season, the Commanders have no choice but to focus on Antonio Gibson as a dual threat in their offense. Take the Over.

AMARI COOPER- 52.5 Receiving Yards at Carolina: OVER

Jacoby Brissett will have to throw to someone. I'm not taking Amari Cooper in season-long prop bets, but I will lean the Over on this one.

DJ MOORE- 67.5 Receiving Yards vs. Cleveland: OVER

DJ Moore remains one of the most underrated receivers in the game. Hamme the Over on this one.

MICHAEL PITTMAN- 69.5 Receiving Yards at Houston: OVER

Michael Pittman Jr. is the alpha in the Colts' passing game. The Colts should control this game from the onset. Take the Over here and don't look back.

DAVIS MILLS- 225.5 Passing Yards vs. Indianapolis: OVER

Garbage time galore in Houston. Davis Mills eases over this number in an ugly fashion.
