College Football got off to a hot start a week ago with Georgia dismantling Oregon, Ohio State grinding out a victory over Notre Dame, and Florida pulling off an upset of Utah.
We move along to Week Two, where there are several intriguing match-ups. Without further adieu, let's dive in!
(If you need to know where to bet, find sportsbook options in your state HERE.)
Quinn Ewers looked the part during his debut last week. The Longhorns disposed of UL-Monroe with relative ease. Moving on to Alabama this week is quite the jump in competition. Bryce Young will be surgical in how he attacks the Texas secondary. I don't see how the Longhorns can keep it close. Take Alabama and give the points.
Penn State was victorious a week ago against Purdue, but it was hardly in an impressive fashion. Ohio is tougher than you would expect. 24.5 is a ton of points to give, so I will take the Bobcats to cover.
North Carolina has scored an insane amount of points in their first two games of the season. I don't see the Tar Heel offense slowing down in this one. Take Carolina to cover.
Coming into the season, I was not bullish on the Razorbacks. I was impressed with Arkansas and KJ Jefferson following their victory over Cincinnati a week ago. I'm a bit worried about Spencer Rattler in a tough crowd. I'll take Arkansas to cover.
I am not a fan of Wake Forest season-long, but Vanderbilt is a program without a direction. I'll take Wake to cover on the road.
I know Notre Dame lost a week ago, but they were impressive. Ohio State is one of the most talented teams in the country, and eventually, the talent won out. Notre Dame will take out their frustrations as they rebound in this one. Notre Dame destroys Marshall in this one.
Appalachian State was impressive in a loss to North Carolina a week ago. Texas A&M is a different beast entirely. The Aggies have far too much talent for this game to remain close for too long. Texas A&M pulls away in the 2nd half. Take the Aggies and give the points.
I can't wait for this one! Will Levis vs. Anthony Richardson in prime time. I fell in love with Anthony Richardson a week ago, and I don't care who knows it! Richardson is a force of nature on the football field with his ability as a passer and runner. I'm taking the Gators in the Swamp!
Kent State cannot match the athleticism Oklahoma puts on the field. The Sooners are tuning up for a long season. Oklahoma wins big and covers the spread.
Every year, this feels like the spot where a highly-touted USC program falls on its face. I will choose to believe that under Lincoln Riley, this year is different! I am doubling down on my pre-season Trojans' hype and say they win this game by two touchdowns.
I cannot, in good conscience, give any team 50+ points. Give me Hawaii to keep it close enough to cover.
