NFL 9/15/22: THE PREGAME--Breaking Down Every Game In Week 2

Ryan Broyles
09-14-2022

Traditionally, the opening weekend in the NFL season is the toughest to judge. We think we know it all! We quickly realize that we know NOTHING! Escaping Week One is a victory. Last week we went 9-7 ATS, and 8-8 on the O/U, with a combined record of 17-15.

Mediocrity is not the bar we set. We turn our attention to Week Two and will triumph. In the process, win you some MONEY!

WEEK 2:

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs (-4) (54)

Everyone will be on the Chiefs following their impressive performance a week ago. Oddly enough, it feels like the Chargers are being underrated and overlooked. The Chiefs will win this game, but I like this game to be close. I'll take the Chargers, and I'll take the Under.

Miami Dolphins at Baltimore Ravens (-3.5) (44.5)

The Dolphins are a different team on the road. The Ravens looked rusty in Week One before eventually putting away the Jets. Expect the Ravens to come out focused and win by two scores. Take the Ravens and the Under.

New York Jets at Cleveland Browns (-6) (40)

We have seen nothing from the Joe Flacco-led Jets that would dissuade us from laying the points with the Browns. Cleveland is committed to a strong run game, and the Jets' front seven is no match for the Browns' offensive line. Cleveland pulls away. Take the Under.

Washington Commanders at Detroit Lions (-1.5) (48.5)

The Commanders/Lions game could be one of the most fun match-ups of the weekend. Both offenses shined brighter than we had anticipated. I like the Lions' balanced offense and their defensive front a bit more. I'm taking a Lions and rolling with the Over.

Indianapolis Colts (-4) at Jacksonville Jaguars (44.5)

The Colts were sleepwalking in the opener last week against Houston. Matt Ryan will play significantly better this week as the Colts win going away. We get a backdoor Over in this one.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2.5) at New Orleans Saints (44)

The Saints traditionally have the Buccaneers' number. The Saints snatched victory from the jaws of defeat a week ago in Atlanta. I'm not going to doubt the resolve of Tom Brady. Take the Bucs, and take the Under.

Carolina Panthers at New York Giants (-2) (43.5)

The Giants shocked the Titans when they won a week ago via a gutsy 2-point conversion. Carolina looked atrocious last week as the Browns dominated them upfront. The Giants aren't good enough to go to 2-0...are they? The Panthers get back on track. Take Carolina and take the Under.

New England Patriots (-2) at Pittsburgh Steelers (40)

The Steelers showed guts last week in an upset victory over the Bengals. The Patriots never got out of neutral and never got anything against the Dolphins. The Steelers feel banged up heading into this one. I'm taking the Patriots to right their season in this one, and I'll take the Under.

Atlanta Falcons at Los Angeles Rams (-10.5) (46.5)

Atlanta played tough a week ago and should have pulled off the upset against New Orleans. The Rams looked shaky in the opener against Buffalo. This is a prime bounce-back spot for the defending Super Bowl Champs as they overwhelm the Falcons in this one. Take the Rams and I'll lean slightly to the Under.

Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers (-9.5) (41.5)

Last week the 49ers played in a monsoon, so their offense looking abysmal is excusable. The 49ers are not confident enough in Trey Lance to be trusted as a two-score favorite. I'm taking Seattle getting the points, and I'll take the Under in a slow-paced affair.

Cincinnati Bengals (-8) at Dallas Cowboys (42)

The Dallas Cowboys are in a desperate situation with Cooper Rush taking over under center for the injured Dak Prescott. The bad news for the Cowboys, the Bengals are just as desperate. Joe Burrow and the Bengals' passing game finds its rhythm. Take the Bengals and take the Over.

Houston Texans at Denver Broncos (-10) (45)

The Denver Broncos will not make the back-breaking errors two weeks in a row. Russell Wilson cooks in this one, as Denver wins in a blowout. Take the Broncos and take the Over.

Arizona Cardinals at Las Vegas Raiders (-5.5) (51.5)

A battle of two 0-1 teams that need the win to keep pace in their division. I have zero confidence in either team's defense. The Raiders are the better team, but Kyler works his magic to keep it close. Take Arizona, and take the Over.

Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers (-10) (42.5)

We have seen this movie before. The Packers have looked lackluster in openers before, and they have responded every time. The Bears' offense struggles mightily in this one. Take the Packers, and take the Under.

Tennessee Titans at Buffalo Bills (-10) (49)

The Titans' offensive struggles continue in this one. The Bills are a significantly better team on both sides of the ball. Take the Bills, and take the Under.

Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles (-2) (50.5)

Both the Vikings and Eagles had moments where they looked phenomenal on Sunday. The Eagles can beat you in many different ways. I'll take Philadelphia and the Over.
