10/22/22: THE PREGAME--Breaking Down Every NFL Game In Week 7

Ryan Broyles
10-19-2022

We turn into Week 7, the bye weeks kick in, and we have fewer games on the slate.

We must prioritize the games on the slate to provide you with all the winners!

The BIG weeks are on the horizon! Get in now while we hit our stride!

(If you need to know where to bet, find sportsbook options in your state HERE.)

WEEK 7:

New Orleans Saints at Arizona Cardinals (-1.5) (44.5)

The Cardinals' offense remains in flux as they lose Marquise Brown due to injury but welcome back DeAndre Hopkins off suspension. New Orleans continues to shuffle the deck at WR and QB. I'm going to lean on the Cardinals at home, on a short week, to get it done in a low-scoring affair.

Cardinals 23

Saints 17

Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens (-6) (46)

The Ravens and Browns are two teams heading in the wrong direction. Expect the Ravens' defense to gang up on the Browns' rushing attack, limiting Nick Chubb. The Ravens have surrendered several leads this season, but they put together a complete effort.

Ravens 24

Browns 17

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-5) at Carolina Panthers (40)

The Panthers are counting the days until the end of the season. The Buccaneers are still putting things together on offense. Tom Brady and the receivers figure it out in this one.

Buccaneers 30

Panthers 17

Atlanta Falcons at Cincinnati Bengals (-6.5) (47.5)

A contrast in styles in this one as the Atlanta Falcons continue to establish the run while the Bengals are finding success taking to the skies. If the Falcons get behind and open up the offense more than usual, this game could be a shoot-out. The Falcons are undefeated against the spread this year. I'll stick with the trend and expect Atlanta to keep it close enough to cover.

Bengals 30

Falcons 24

Detroit Lions at Dallas Cowboys (-7) (49)

The Dallas Cowboys defense will be licking its lips to get after Jared Goff and the Lions' offense. The Cowboys, searching for a bounce-back week--won't end well for Detroit.

Cowboys 31

Lions 17

New York Giants at Jacksonville Jaguars (-1) (42.5)

The Jaguars' play has fallen off as of late. The Giants continue to surprise everyone by winning tight games. The best player on the field is Saquon Barkley, and I believe the Giants' running game is enough in this one.

Giants 20

Jaguar 17

Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans (PK) (43.5)

The Colts and Titans know each other so well--this game will turn into a chess match on grass. The Titans have righted the ship following a slow start to the season. I'm not betting against Mike Vrable off a bye week.

Titans 23

Colts 20

Green Bay Packers (-3) at Washington Commanders (41.5)

I keep waiting for the Packers to find their get-right game. Green Bay travels to Washington to take on the Commander's poor secondary. Taylor Heinicke might give the Washington offense a bit of juice, forcing Rodgers and company to figure it out on the offensive side of the ball.

Packers 24

Commanders 20

New York Jets at Denver Broncos (-7) (39.5)

The Jets/Broncos game has all the makings of a defensive slugfest. With Russell Wilson ailing, he may not even be available for this one. The Jets appear committed to the running game led by rookie back Breece Hall. It wouldn't surprise me if the Jets pulled off the upset here. I will take the points.

Broncos 20

Jets 17

Houston Texans at Las Vegas Raiders (-8) (45.5)

The Texans and Raiders square off in Vegas, fresh off their bye week. Josh Jacobs will be the equalizer in this one, as he should run through and around a vulnerable Texans' run defense. Davis Mills and the Texans' offense keep it close enough to cover.

Raiders 27

Texans 21

Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Chargers (-8.5) (51.5)

Justin Herbert and the Chargers' passing game having a field day against a Seahawks defense on the road feels like one of the safest plays of the weekend. Geno Smith and the Seahawks' offense have been game all season long. Kenneth Walker III can balance the scales with a rushing attack.

Chargers 27

Seahawks 20

Kansas City Chiefs (-1) at San Francisco 49ers (48.5)

The 49ers' defense continues to sustain injury after injury, depleting what once was a formidable unit. The Chiefs come in smarting following a defeat to the Buffalo Bills. Take the Chiefs to romp in this one.

Chiefs 34

49ers 24

Pittsburgh Steelers at Miami Dolphins (-4) (45.5)

With the Miami Dolphins easing Tua Tagovailoa back into the starting lineup and with the question marks the Steelers have on offense, this game should become a low-scoring affair. I'm taking the Dolphins to get back on the right foot at home.

Dolphins 24

Steelers 16

Chicago Bears at New England Patriots (-5) (40)

Monday Night Football could become an ugly affair, as we get a prime-time match-up of Justin Fields and Bailey Zappe. The Patriots have been running the ball with great success and relying on a dominant defense. I see no reason to think the recipe will change in this one.

Patriots 23

Bears 13
