10/29/22: THE PREGAME--Breaking Down Our Favorite Plays for Week 9

Ryan Broyles

The College Football season is on fire! Every week we have stellar match-ups.

Clemson narrowly survived a Syracuse team that pushed them to the brink!

Ohio State kept its eye on the prize and rolled Iowa.

Alabama distanced itself from the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

TCU kept their magical season going, remaining undefeated.

We move along to Week 9, where there are several intriguing match-ups. Without further adieu, let's dive in!

(If you need to know where to bet, find sportsbook options in your state HERE.)

WEEK 9:

Ohio State Buckeyes (-14.5) at Penn State Nittany Lions

Ohio State is getting their star receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba back just in time for a tilt against rivals Penn State. Smith-Njigba could be limited, but luckily for the Buckeye faithful, they have plenty of playmakers across their offense. Penn State is game for a little while, but Ohio State pulls away.

Ohio State 41

Penn State 24

TCU Horned Frogs (-7.5) at West Virginia Mountaineers

Max Duggan and TCU are on a magical run. I don't see JT Daniels matching Duggan play-for-play for four quarters. TCU wins by two scores.

TCU 41

West Virginia 30

Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Syracuse Orange (-1.5)

Syracuse had Clemson beat last week, and they let them off the hook. Syracuse has a strong balance on offense between the pass and run. Notre Dame can't keep up with the Orange.

Syracuse 34

Notre Dame 27

Arkansas Razorbacks (-3.5) at Auburn Tigers

QB KJ Jefferson makes all the difference for the Razorbacks' offense, and he is the difference maker in this one. Jefferson and the Arkansas offense apply too much pressure as Auburn eventually wilts.

Arkansas 31

Auburn 21

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Florida State Seminoles (-23.5)

Georgia Tech is not a powerhouse by any stretch of the imagination, but this point spread feels like disrespect. Florida State has not been world beaters this year, and Vegas has them as a three-touchdown favorite? The Seminoles win, but this game is much closer than anticipated.

Florida State 30

Georgia Tech 20

Florida Gators at Georgia Bulldogs (-23.5)

Anthony Richardson is a dynamic talent, and his time will come, but the time is now for the Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia overwhelms Florida on both sides of the ball.

Georgia 45

Florid 17

Wake Forest Demon Deacons (-3) at Louisville Cardinal

I am looking forward to the QB battle between Sam Hartman and Malik Cunningham. Cunningham may provide the more spectacular highlights, but Sam Hartman is the more consistent thrower of the football. Take Wake Forest.

Wake Forest 41

Louisville 35

Oregon Ducks (-17) at California Golden Bears

This game is a letdown spot for the Oregon Ducks. Oregon is coming off a huge victory over UCLA. California has enough in their passing attack to keep the game close.

Oregon 37

California 24

Oklahoma State Cowboys at Kansas State Wildcats (-1.5)

Oklahoma State is better on both sides of the ball. I know it is tough to win in Manhattan, but I'm taking the Cowboys.

Oklahoma State 34

Kansas State 31

Kentucky Wildcats at Tennessee Volunteers (-12)

I am as excited about Tennessee as the next guy, but we may be getting a little carried away. Kentucky is a quality program and has an explosive offense. Tennessee will win at home, but Kentucky covers the spread.

Tennessee 31

Kentucky 21

USC Trojans (-15) at Arizona Wildcats

USC still has a lot to play for, and the Trojans can make a case for the College Football Playoff if they win impressively down the stretch. Arizona is no match for Caleb Williams and company.

USC 38

Arizona 17

Michigan State Spartans at Michigan Wolverines (-23)

Michigan feels like a team out for revenge. The Wolverines know the feeling of losing to the Spartans the last two times. Michigan keeps the pedal to the metal in this one.

Michigan 45

Michigan State 16

Stanford Cardinal at UCLA Bruins (-16.5)

UCLA is determined to rebound following its loss to Oregon. Stanford is not putting up much of a fight this season. The Bruins win big.

UCLA 41

Stanford 20
