MLB Betting 4/15/23 - HR Predictions

Welcome in to a new article for 2023...the HR Predictor! This will be a daily article, where I use my own research to highlight a few names I think are in a great position to hit a homerun on each days slate! These are low unit bets -- between 0.1 and 0.3 units -- with typically high-odds and we will only need to hit one or two a week to make some money! Randy Arozarena +360 (0.2u)

It appears to be the same situation for Yusei Kikuchi in 2023, that we saw last season, He has good stuff, but he can't seem to figure out right-handed hitters and he's pitched to a 5.63 xERA through two starts this season. Since the start of 2022, he's allowing a .281 ISO and 51% hard-hit rate to right-handed batters...yikes! Tampa Bay will be able to pile in eight or nine righties against him, which could make it another long day for him on Saturday. Arozarena has the most power on the team vs left-handed pitching -- and he matches up perfectly with Kikuchi as well. He throws his fastball 50% of the time -- a pitch that Arozarena mashes to the tune of a .397 ISO and 94 average exit velocity. 

Brent Rooker +550 (0.1u)

Thi is more of the odds range I like to target HR's in, and I think there is definite value on Rooker today. Carlos Carrasco has looked horrible to begin the season, he's allowed three homeruns in two starts and alowed 40% hard-contact. Luckily for Cookie, Oakland is one of the worst offenses in baseball so he has a decent change at a solid outing today. Of all the Athletics hitters, Rooker is the biggest power threat and he already has four homeruns in eight games this season. He matches up well with Carrasco's pitch mix, and if anyone leaves the yard from Oakland this afternoon my money is on Rooker.
