MLB Betting 5/13/23 - HR Predictor

Welcome in to a new article for 2023...the HR Predictor! This will be a daily article, where I use my own research to highlight a few names I think are in a great position to hit a homerun on each days slate! These are low unit bets -- between 0.1 and 0.3 units -- with typically high-odds and we will only need to hit one or two a week to make some money! If you're interested in all of my MLB betting and prop picks, plus access to our PrizePicks Predictor, you can sign-up by clicking HERE. With that being said, let's dive in...

UPDATED HR RECORD: 13-34 +$423.00

Note: This unit scale is $100 = 1 unit.

Josh Jung +360 (0.2u)

We are playing with house money today after hitting Willson Contreras on Friday – and I’m going back to the well with Josh Jung. Jung did not homer last night, but draws another good match-up against JP Sears. Sears is allowing over a .300 ISO to right-handed hitters and we know that Jung has big-time power. He also throws a lot of fastballs, which is key given that Jung sports a massive .600 ISO against the pitch - albeit in a small 17 PA sample-size.

Taylor Trammell (0.2u)

I’ve long been a fan of Taylor Trammell and I’m still hopeful for a post-hype breakout given that he’s still 25 years old. The window is closing, but not shut just yet and he does have two homeruns in 20 PA this season. This is one of the best spots on the slate against Alex Faedo, who looked like he shouldn’t be in the MLB in his first start for the Tigers this season. It’s a small sample size, but Trammell ranks first on the team in ISO vs right-handed pitching this season. Faedo threw his fastball a ton in that first start, and that’s Trammell’s best pitch. Seattle has one of the bigger team totals on the board today, and I do think they hit at least one out. You can take your pick on other guys, but 6/1 seems like a nice price.
