MLB Betting 8/3/23 - HR Predictor

Welcome in to a new article for 2023...the HR Predictor! This will be a daily article, where I use my own research to highlight a few names I think are in a great position to hit a homerun on each days slate! These are low unit bets -- between 0.1 and 0.3 units -- with typically high-odds and we will only need to hit one or two a week to make some money! If you're interested in all of my MLB betting and prop picks, plus access to our PrizePicks Predictor, you can sign-up by clicking HERE. With that being said, let's dive in...

UPDATED HR RECORD: 23-67 +$560.00

Note: This unit scale is $100 = 1 unit.

Elly De La Cruz +500 (0.2u)

I wrote yesterday that I was looking to start up a steak and that's exactly what happened, cashing in on a +390 Dansby Swanson HR! Tonight we look to hit two in a row with our old friend Elly De La Cruz, who has cashed us two HR props already this season. He's had a rough go of it as of late, but this is the perfect spot to jump on at 5/1 odds. Jameson Taillon has been one of the luckiest pitchers in baseball over the last month -- pitching to a 1.78 ERA despite a 4.78 SIERA. He's really struggled with left-handed hitters this season, and De La Cruz has been infinitely better vs RHP than LHP. He's actually been pretty bad against lefties, so it's important to target him when he is facing a RHP that gives up hard-contact. He has above-average power numbers against both of Taillon's most-used pitches - and I think the Reds have multi-HR upside as a team tonight.
