NFL Week 3 - Danny's Best Bets

Danny Carpenter
09-23-2023

A successful NFL Week 2 – Danny’s Best Bets were stumped by a holding call against a Dallas offensive lineman as Tony Pollard was crossing the goal line and securing a winning week.

But oh no – another losing week!

As we collect more information about I believe I have right plays for NFL Week 3 – Danny’s Best Bets.

Last week’s winners were Tennessee +3 and Christian McCaffrey over 67.5 rushing yards

The Titans needed overtime to keep the Los Angeles Chargers winless, while McCaffrey easily crushed his total in the first half.

Losers, besides the non-Pollard TD, were Cincinnati -3 and Calvin Ridley over 72.5 receiving yards.

The Bengals’ offensive woes will not get better until Joe Burrow is 100 percent healthy, and the Chiefs’ defense was a force, shutting down Ridley and the whole Jacksonville offense.

Week 2 record: 2-3 (.400)

Overall record: 4-6 (.400)

Now onto NFL Week 3 – Danny’s Best Bets.

LA Chargers at Minnesota

Over 53.5 on FanDuel and KJ Osborn over 34.5 receiving yards on FanDuel

Neither one of these teams have played much defense this season.

The Chargers have giving up 30-plus points in their two losses, while the Vikings continue their defensive woes from last season, giving up 27.0 points a game this season.

And both offenses have been outstanding.

The Chargers average 29.0 points a game, and the Vikings are the second best passing team in the NFL, averaging 337 yards a game. The Vikings’ biggest problem has been turnovers as they are minus-6 for the season.

Now the Osborn over 34.5 receiving yards may seem to be a little tricky, but hear me out.

The Chargers have given up 76 and 78 yards to the Titans and the Dolphins No. 2 WR, and they have been on limited targets (9 total).

Osborn is still the No. 2 WR in the Vikings offense and has seen 12 targets despite averaging only 32.5 yards a game.

New Orleans at Green Bay

Over 42.5 on BetMGM

I think the odds makers may have missed this one.

In the team’s last five meetings in Green Bay (dating back to 2005), the two have averaged 58.6 points a game.

Coming into the contest, the Packers are averaging 31 points, while the Saints are averaging 18 points this season.

Houston at Jacksonville

Travis Etienne over 69.5 on DraftKings (I made my bet when the line was 67.5)

Etienne loves seeing the Houston rush defense.

The third-year running back, who missed his rookie season because of injury, ran through and around the Texans last season.

He had 71 and 108 yards rushing on just 19 combined attempts in their two matchups.

The Texans’ rush defense is not as bad as in year’s past but they are giving up 118 yards a game in 2023. And Etienne saw

Denver at Miami

Miami -6 on BetMGM

The Dolphins finally come home after their blistering 2-0 start on the road.

They welcome the Broncos, who are playing their first road of the season after a 0-2 start.

Miami will stay undefeated thanks to their 12th player – the Southeast Florida weather.

Temperatures are expected to be in the mid to upper 80s at kickoff with humidity in the 70 percent range.

Plus, the Dolphins will wear their road whites and force the Broncos to wear their dark home jerseys on the visitor’s sideline in the sun at Hard Rock Stadium.

This line may be too small.
