PGA Best Bets - Sanderson Farms Championship

The PGA Tour Fall Season is about to get into full swing!

The month of October is packed with events as members are trying to reach the elusive 125 number to earn full exempt status into full-field events and a spot in The Players.

Starting off the month is the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Miss., and I’m bringing to you my favorite outright bets.

Eric Cole

+2000 on FanDuel

Cole has been on the doorstep four times this season, finishing 4th at the Fortinet Championship last month. He came close early in the season, losing to Chris Kirk in a playoff at the Honda Classic in February.

He is the only golfer in the field that filled the four boxes I used for a course fit and he is Top 5 overall on my spreadsheet.

Garrick Higgo

+4000 on FanDuel

Higgo has been known as a bomber and can been erratic, proof of missing the cut in last two events, but before that he had three straight Top 25 finishes.

The tree-lined course at Country Club of Jackson could prove to be a problem for the non-accurate hitters like Higgo but the rough is a non-penal, two-inch Bermuda.

Plus, he had a 3rd-place finish here last fall.

Sam Ryder

+4500 on FanDuel

The greens at the Country Club at Jackson can be lightning quick, and Ryder has the short game to make a run.

He’s Top 25 in SG: approach and SG: putting this season on the PGA Tour. He is coming off a T14 at the Fortinet Championship and had a T45th last fall at Sanderson Farm.

Dylan Wu

+6000 on FanDuel

Wu has had a knack of early strong runs but fails to continue that strong play into the weekends during the second half of the season.

With a weaker field, Wu may finally breakthrough as he is Top 20 in this field in tee to green, approach, putting and three of the four course fit stats I used for this event.

Peter Kuest

+7000 on FanDuel

Kuest has played solid golf late in the season and is coming off a miss cut right on the number (-2) after starting Fortinet +4 on his first two holes.

Kuest has the distance to take advantage of this course. If he had enough rounds under his belt, he would be Top 5 in driving distance and Top 5 in par-5 scoring. The par 5s at the Country Club of Jackson are getable in three, setting some eagle opportunities for Kuest.
