NFL Week 12 - Danny's Best Bets

Danny Carpenter
11-25-2023

I knew the run would end sooner or later, but I just wish it wasn’t with a dud for my Week 11 – Best Bets picks.

For the second time in three weeks, an injury provided one my losses as Cooper Kupp left the game early with a sprained ankle. He finished with only 11 yards receiving.

But the one that really burned me was my Cole Kmet over 3.5 receptions play. Kmet recorded his third catch with 4:02 minutes left in the first quarter.

From that point, Kmet saw only one more target, also in the first quarter.

Oh the agony of poor play calling!

Last Week: 1-4 (.200)

Overall: 29-26 (.527)

Now onto NFL Week 12 – Danny’s Best Bets!

Jacksonville at Houston

Over 47.5 points on DraftKings

Evan Engram over 4.5 receptions on DraftKings

I’m going to double dip on this game, which has the second highest total for the Week 12 weekend games.

The Texans smacked the Jaguars, 37-17, during Week 3 in Jacksonville.

In the first matchup, Houston jumped to a 17-0 first-half lead, but Jacksonville battled back to cut it to 17-10 early in the third. The Texans returned the ensuing kickoff to put the game out of reach.

In their last five matchups, the winning team has scored the 30 points or more in four out of five games. Both teams have surpassed 30 points four times this season.

Expect some offensive fireworks!

Engram has recorded 6 receptions or more in two out of his three matchups vs. the Texans in a Jaguars uniform.

The only game he didn’t eclipse the 4.5 reception mark was during Jacksonville’s 31-3 blowout in Week 17 last season.

Tampa Bay at Indianapolis

Over 44.5 points on DraftKings

The beauty of non-conference games in a dome late in the season.

These games are a DFS player’s dream and ours, too, with total only 44.5 points.

These two have combined to score 69 or more points in their last two meetings.

The Buccaneers’ pass-funnel defense enters the game ranked 31st in pass defense, while the Colts give up 263 yards passing in their home games this season.

The teams also combine for 69.1 pass attempts a game this season.

Cleveland at Denver

Under 37 on DraftKings

The Browns will give rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson his third start of the season, but unless the coaching staff can figure out how to throw downfield, the Cleveland offense may sputter.

The Broncos may still have the worst defense statistically in the league, but it has played better on that side of the ball recently.

As for the Cleveland defense, it continues to lead the league in yards allowed a game at 243.3 yards a game. That mark is 30 yards better than Baltimore’s 2nd-ranked defense.

Buffalo at Philadelphia

Dalton Kincaid over 5.5 receptions on DraftKings

During the last four games, Kincaid has become Josh Allen’s second-favor target just behind Stefon Diggs.

Diggs has seen 32 targets, while Kincaid has seen 31.

But it has been Kincaid who has been hauling in those targets. He has 26 catches compared to Diggs’ 22. That is 6.5 receptions a game for Kincaid.

Add in the fact the Eagles are a bottom 5 team against the pass and are one of the worse pass defenses vs. TEs.
