The NFL is a game of inches – as in the case of my over bet last week in the Jacksonville-Houston game, about a one foot.
The Texans’ Matt Ammendola 58-yard field goal attempt hit the crossbar as time expired in Houston’s 24-21 loss to the Jaguars. If he had made the kick, the over would have cleared 47.5 points.
And for the second straight week, a tight end finished one catch short for his over. Dalton Kincaid stung me last week as he finished with 5 receptions when his middle was 5.5.
Close but inches away!
Last Week: 2-3 (.400)
Overall: 31-29 (.517)

Now onto NFL Week 13 – Danny’s Best Bets.
This is one of those West Coast teams playing at 1 p.m. on the East Coast type play.
Then I took a deeper dive into this game.
Since the Patriots became the New England Patriots in the early 1970s (they used to be called the Boston Patriots), the Chargers are 1-10 when they travel to New England. That is STRAIGHT UP not against the spread.
Plus, the Chargers offense may not be as potent with its wounded receiving corps.
When these two face each other, we usually see plenty of offense.
The two have combined for more than 45.5 points in 8 out of their last 10 matchups.
The winning team has averaged 35.0 points in those last 10 matchups.
This is one of those lines that just screams a public play.
And it’s not wrong as about two-thirds of early betting is on the favorite Falcons.
That is just one reason I’m taking the Jets, but the second reason is Atlanta has a 2-8 straight up record in their last 10 games not played in a dome.
Evans has made a living feasting on the Carolina defense in his last six games.
He has averaged 111.5 yards a game during that stretch, including last year’s game in Tampa where he had 10 catches for 207 yards and 3 TDs.
He has surpassed 62.5 yards receiving in 10 out of 17 career games vs. the Panthers.
McCaffrey has only faced the Eagles twice in the regular season, and both times it was with Carolina.
Philly was able to slow down CMC in those two games.
But when these two battled last year in the NFC Championship, McCaffrey finished with 106 yards rushing and receiving combined in a game where Brock Purdy missed most of the contest.
Purdy and the rest of the 49ers offense is healthy now, but the 49ers success still starts with McCaffrey.
CMC has eclipsed more than 106.5 yards rushing and receiving combined in 7 out of 11 games this season.
