Well, four of five of my golfers made it to the weekend at the Sony Open, but none were in contention.
I’ll take those odds going into the weekend when anything can happen on the PGA Tour.
This week the Tour starts it California swing at The American Express.
The unique setup allows three rounds of golf on three different courses before the cut.
Pete Dye Stadium Course (par 72, 7,187 yards), La Quinta Country Club (par 72, 7,060 yards) and Nicklaus Tournament Course (par 72, 7,147 yards) will be used in the rotation with the Pete Dye Stadium Course playing host to the final round.
The Nicklaus Tournament Course yielded the best the scores last year, and whoever has a strong run on that course on Saturday could be in line for the title on Sunday.

Onto The American Express Bet to Win Picks!
Im is part of a group of golfers who are priced 10K or more on DraftKings in DFS, but he has the longest odds of the four.
Of the four, Im is the second best 10K golfer on my spreadsheet, and he’s the best putter of the four in an event that is expected to be a birdie-fest.
I’ll take the extra odds on Im’s putter.
Kirk came up short last year at The American Express as he finished T3.
He will look to use his all-around game again this year after gaining more than 4 strokes last year in SG: tee to green last year.
He is in the Top 17 in 3 of the 4 course fits I used for my spreadsheet.
Pendrith missed the cut last year at The American Express despite shooting a 7 under (the cut last year was 9 under).
He seems to be complete healthy after having shoulder surgery last September to remove a calcium ball lodged in the tendons in his shoulder. He missed part of the 2022 season after fracturing a rib.
Now it appears he’s on the right (healthy) path and his putter is ranked in the Top 10 early this season on the Tour.
Horschel doesn’t have the flashy game, but he’s been consistent since the Fall Series after his inconsistent 2023 season.
Horschel has 4 Top 20 finishes in his last five events and just played four sub-70 rounds at the Sony Open.
He finished the fourth round with a 5-under 65 in Hawaii.
Yuan popped off on my spreadsheet this week as the top DFS play, but that is based on limited stats for this season.
He was in contention early at the Sony Open with a 9 under after two rounds. He fell back on Saturday before flying up the leaderboard for T4 finish after shooting a 7-under 63 in the final round.
