There's plenty of CBB action on tap for Thursday January 25th, giving us plenty of options on the sportsbooks. We dropped our last article play, with Keisei Tominaga going under his 14.5 point total. I was back and forth on whether or not to write up Nebraska to cover that game, but ultimately Tominaga's offense wasn't needed with Reink Mast going for a career-high 34. Attacking Ohio State on the road will continue to be a strategy I deploy, and overall I'm good with the process of the play.

For Thursday night, we have tons of mid-major action across the board and there's one play that I really like...

UMass Lowell ML -125

UMass Lowell will host Vermont tonight - these are the two best teams and the co-favorites to win the AmEast making this a massive game with conference implications. Both are undefeated in conference play this season, but neither have really been tested so this will be a nice spot for them both to get up and play their best basketball.

I've been on this Lowell team all season, and took a future on them to win the AmEast back before the season began. A big factor in this game is the home team. The River Hawks went undefeated at home last season - uncluding a 80-65 win over John Becker's Catamounts. They've once again been dominant at home this season, and are rounding into form with Abdoul Karim Coulibaly back healthy. Lowell is a completely different team with Coulibaly off the floor - he missed 9 games earlier this season and the River Hawks lost two of their four total games without him on the floor. It's also noteworthy that their lone home loss this season came without Coulibaly active.

Schematically, I think the River Hawks clearly have the advantage. Vermont is vulnerable in the paint and at the rim, and that's where Lowell wants to attack you on offense. On the flip side, the Catamounts entire offense is predicated on the three-point shot -- Lowell is one of the best three-point defenses in the country. They rank top-40 in the country in Open 3 rate allowed and KenPom as them graded out as the 2nd best 3P% defense in the country right now.

This could be the most electric game of the night, and I'm more than willing to back the home team here. I've been high on this Lowell team all season, and the time is now for them to secure a big win in front of the home crowd. Back the River Hawks on the ML on Thursday evening.
