Tennessee Volunteers Team Total OVER 75.5 -118

We dropped our last CBB article free play, with UMass Lowell suffering an unfortunate overtime defeat. It's Super Tuesday tonight, and I've already sent out several plays in the discord. I love these big slates and let's dive into my favorite play of the night...

If you haven't noticed. the Tennesse Volunteers are an absolute wagon. They've been great historically under Rick Barnes, but I don't believe he's ever had a team this good. Usually these Vols are lights out defensively, but aren't quite as good on offense. You can support this trend by looking at past years KenPom data. In 2021, the Vols ranked 28th overall -- 5th overall in defensive efficiency but just 85th in offense. Last season, they were struggling heading into the tourney due to the loss of their starting PG but once again were elite defensively (3rd overall) but struggled more so on offense (35th). This season is a whole different ball game due to the addition of Dalton Knecht. Knecht has been on fire in conference play, and has helped elevate the Vols to a top-20 offense per KenPom. They've been completely decimating teams at home as well, scoring 91, 85 and 90 in their last three home conference games.

This game will feature contrasting styles -- the Vols want to get out and run on offense while the Gamecocks want to slow the game down and play in the half-court. It's always harder for a team to dictate the pace on the road, and it will be increasingly more difficult given that they are double-digit underdogs. Tennessee should set the tone early in this game in front of a rowdy home crowd, and I'm not sure if any team can stop them in their current form. Back the Vols to go over their team total on Tuesday evening.
