We got back on track and cashed our last article play, with the Zach Edey/Purdue SGP coming through in overtime! This is about the time of year when I really start to heat up in the college streets and I'm excited to dive into Friday coming off a 2-1 Thursday evening.

Iowa Hawkeyes -4.5 -110

If you know anything about me or how I bet on games, you could probably see this one coming. I will preface this by saying neither of these teams are good ATS -- Iowa is just 5-7 ATS at home, but that just may not even matter against the road Buckeyes. Ohio State has not won a road game since Janaury 1st, 2023. Yes, it's been over a full year since they won on the road and they're 0-5 ATS on the road this season as well. I've noted this plenty of times this season, but Ohio State's defense falls off a cliff away from Columbus. They're allowing over 5 points more on the road this season, and that could spell trouble against a Hawkeye offense that's no stranger to scoring. Iowa's big issue is on the defensive end - ranking 117th in adjusted defensive efficiency per KenPom compared to 18th in offense. Many analysts will note that Ohio State's defense has been unlucky on the road. While I agree, we are dealing with a year-long sample-size here so I think the fact of the matter is this team is just not good on the road. It's hard to win on the road as it is in the Big Ten, and it doesn't get any easier when things start going against you like this. There should be plenty of scoring in this game, but I'm backing the Hawkeyes at home on Friday night.
