PGA Tour WM Phoenix Open: Danny's Bets to Win

Danny Carpenter

No fireworks last week as Mother Nature put an anti-climactic finish at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Wyndham Clark shoots his 60 on Saturday and waited before he was crowned the champion in the PGA Tour’s second elevated event.

This week the Tour heads to the wild confines of TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course (par 71, 7,261 yards) for the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The 16th hole is the marquee hole as up to 20,000 fans will surround the hole with its stadium atmosphere.

Onto WM Phoenix Open Bet to Win Picks:

Jordan Spieth

+1800 on DraftKings

It is hard to find some value this week as longshots have failed to win consistently at WM Phoenix Open.

And Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas’ odds are too short to make a sensible bet with a good return.

Spieth fills that void even though he is the fourth best betting odds to win.

Sam Burns

+2000 on DraftKings

Burns is another guy I tend to stay away from in DFS, just like Spieth, but my spreadsheet has him as a strong upside play this week (You can see my Top 25 DFS plays and my upside plays in our premium Discord).

Burns’ elite approach and putting should keep him in contention this week.

Byeong Hun An

+2800 on DraftKings

An has quietly been knocking on the door for a victory.

Scottsdale may be the perfect place to gain his first PGA Tour win.

His distance with his driver will not be hampered this week (unless it’s awry) to allow him to open up his above average approach play and putting.

Akshay Bhatia

+6000 on DraftKings

Bhatia knows how to win on the PGA Tour, but can he do it in a regular full-field event?

His accuracy off the tee will allow him to take advantage of his strong approach game and outstanding putter (yes, putter as he is currently 16th this season in SG: putting).

Kurt Kitayama

+6500 on DraftKings

Surprisingly, Kitayama will be a popular pick to win this week as his odds have been falling (he’s still as high as +9000 on Bet365).

Kitayama is another golfer who knows how to win on the PGA Tour vs. top competition. He held off Rory McIlroy last year to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
