PGA Tour Mexico Open: Danny's Bets to Win

Danny Carpenter

Well, when it’s an elevated event and only 18 golfers missed the cut, you have a good chance of picking a winner.

But no, not me!

I only 3 of 5 picks make the cut for my Bets to Win last week!

And the three who made the cut were not sniffing the top of the leaderboard either.

Just a frustrating week to go along with my DFS.

There’s always another week!

Onto the Mexico Open at Vidanta Bet to Win Picks:

Taylor Pendrith

+2500 on DraftKings

Pendrith checks all the boxes to be successful at Vidanta – long off the tee and great approach game.

Since the Fall Series, Pendrith has been up and down with his results.

But when they are good, he has 4 Top 15 finishes, and with this week’s weaker field, he may have a chance to get that win.

Davis Thompson

+3500 on DraftKings

Thompson hasn’t made a run on the weekend yet since the beginning Fall Series, but he has made the cut in 8 of 9 events.

He finished 15th at the WM Phoenix Open in his last start and his game may be a perfect fit for Vidanta.

His elite approach game, distance off the tee and elite putting could have him raising the trophy on Sunday.

Jake Knapp

+4000 on DraftKings

Knapp’s T3 finish at Farmers Insurance Open gives you hope for him to bring home a win this season.

His distance off the tee will be his big weapon this week.

Brandon Wu

+5000 on DraftKings

Wu has an elite approach game, but it is his experience around Vidanta that will be big this week.

He has finished in the Top 3 the first two years of the event, behind Jon Rahm and Tony Finau.

And this year Finau is the only one of the two he has to compete with after Rahm left for LIV.

Parker Coody

+9000 on DraftKings

To keep with the winning ways on the PGA Tour this season, Coody is my longshot play.

He checks all the boxes for a possible big win – elite approach play, especially in the 175-200 to 200-plus buckets and long off the tee.

His bad putter is his only weakness – however, the relatively flat greens favor the weaker putters in the field.
