The NCAA tournament is back and for me, like many, this is the best event to bet on and watch each year. Betting on March Madness and filling out brackets is extremely difficult, but I believe there are edges to exploit that the common watcher/bettor will not utilize correctly or at all this March. In these previews, I will do my best to break down exactly how I analyze each region and why I believe certain teams absolutely can or cannot cut down the nets. If you want access to my daily betting cards + our A.I. powered Moneyline Predictor and Total Predictor for every NCAA tournament and NIT game click here. These tools, as well as our Live Trends page get updated daily to provide you with the best knowledge possible when betting on the big games. Signing up for the month will ensure you access to the entire tournament as well as the start of MLB season, where I posted a 220-190-9 +31.45 betting record in 2023. I’ll be posting my full brackets adjusted for pool-size for premium members as well on Wednesday. With that being said, let’s dive in..
The West Region runs through the weakest one seed in my opinion, North Carolina. My claim that they are the weakest one is backed by the books. Arizona is actually favored to win this region despite being the two seed, and they are -325 to reach the Sweet 16 compared to just -205 for UNC. Furthermore, Arizona is just 13/1 to win the national title compared to 17/1 for UNC. This creates what I will label as the chaos region. We have a weaker one seed, backed by a two seed that has struggled mightily in the tournament in recent years – especially with Tommy Lloyd as HC. This creates a situation where we could easily see a high seed make a Sweet 16, Elite 8 or even Final Four run which has become a more common theme over the years.
