AB's B-Ball Bets 8/03/20

We ended up falling a bit short last night on what could’ve been a great day as the Bucks couldn’t hold on to an 8 point lead with 3 minutes left in the game, tough way to lose but with the Beard on your team you’re never really out of any game. Let’s dig into tonight’s match of the night where I’ll be outlining my favorite bet of the day. You can find all our bets through our NBA Premium Package.

 

Los Angeles Lakers (-280) vs Utah Jazz (+230) O/U 217.5

The pace in tonight’s matchup isn’t the sexiest as the Lakers take on the Jazz. Both teams are clinched into the playoffs and should be using tonight’s matchup to get some of the rust off. Vogel has come out saying he isn’t planning on resting his star players or playing them reduced minutes, at least for the foreseeable future. At the same time, I don’t think there’s a need to jeopardize your star player(s) by running them out 35 minutes a game when we all know AD’s prone injury history. If someone leans on him too hard, we might be getting a notification that he’s heading to the locker room.

The Lakers saw an 11-man rotation in their last game, and I think tonight we see a similar approach versus an inferior Jazz squad. As we start getting closer to the playoffs we’re going to see teams that are locked in their current standings give more minutes to roll players they know will be in the rotation come playoff time, just to get them caught up in the offense. The Jazz on the other hand, didn’t have their best outing against the Thunder on Sat and shot only 39% from the floor and 25% from 3’s. Clarkson and Niang saw the most minutes off the bench and I think we see a similar run for Clarkson tonight against his old squad. He loves to chuck up shots any time the ball is in his hands, whether it is a good shot or not. I don’t feel the Jazz stand a chance tonight and the Lakers should be able to comfortably pull out the dub.
