Premier League: Liverpool at Chelsea

The 2020 soccer season has been off to a bit of a rocky start in the MLS. I am more than grateful for another week of Premier League and the start of the Bundesliga! With the Premier League slowly working to bring fans back, we will be sure to attack the better and healthier side for now. This Sunday we travel to Stamford Bridge in a clash between retooled Chelsea and last years League Champs, Liverpool. Without the slew of injuries for Chelsea this game would generally be a no bet for me. But with Chelsea being banged up it’s hard to pass up the value here. Last weekend Liverpool got its “Championship Hangover” game out of the way with a high scoring 4-3 win over newly promoted Leeds. In the last bout between these two clubs, we saw a high scoring affair. This matchup started with Chelsea’s orchestrator Pulisic on the bench and Liverpool quickly jumped to an early 4-1 lead before Lampard decided to add Pulisic to the mix. At times, when Pulisic is out of action it feels as if Chelsea is searching for an identity. It will take some time for Chelsea to familiarize themselves with their new identity. Playing against the league champs without their star player will leave them a bit disorganized. Although we are backing Liverpool in this game, the future is bright for Frank Lampard and Chelsea. With the additions of Thiago Silva, Kai Havertz, and Timo Werner. Look out for Chelsea to make its way to the top of the table.
