The new Bet Karma NBA Trends page is designed to show the line movement in team totals, spreads, and game totals. Each section features the live number, opening number, and difference between the two. The movement is taken from the DraftKings Sportsbook.
In this article, I’ll breakdown the movement from one game with the corresponding player prop bet from our Prop Predictor. All of our player props can be found on the Live Odds page by clicking “view props” for each individual game.
The Detroit Pistons opened as 8.5 point home underdogs against the Brooklyn Nets tonight. The line shifted 2 points towards Detroit throughout the day, though. This game also opened with one of the highest game totals (233) on the slate, although it’s dipped 3.5 points since. Brooklyn’s team total has shifted from 120.75 points to 118 points, while Detroit’s moved from 112.25 points to 111.5.
Detroit’s quietly found success against the spread (ATS) this season. They own a 12-10-1 ATS record. Brooklyn, on the other hand, has been one of the worst ATS teams, posting a 10-15 record thus far. Brooklyn’s only covered in 30% of their road game, while Detroit’s covered in 63.6% of their home contests.
Both teams have found success with the over this season. Brooklyn ranks second in the NBA, finding the over in 72% of their games. Detroit’s also hit the over in 56.5% of their contests. Surprisingly, Detroit only owns a 4-7 over/under record at home, although Brooklyn boasts a 7-3 over/under road record.
This game features an interesting prop bet. Joe Harris’ assist total is set at 1.5, and he’s projected for 2 assists via our Karma Projection. Overall, this gives this prop bet an A+ Karma Grade.
You can view all of our player props for this game by clicking here.
Harris is averaging 2.0 assists in 31.3 minutes per game through 25 games this season. He’s also averaging 2.4 assists per game over the last 10 days. Furthermore, Harris has posted 2+ assists in 8 of his last 10 games.
He isn’t a massive part of the offense, although he is expected to find extra usage with Kevin Durant out. Harris will be surrounded by elite scoring options, making this assist total a bit low.
