Joey's NBA Prop Bets Tuesday 02/16/2021

We were betting lighter to start the season but we can start becoming a lot more confident in our plays moving forward. Early season NBA is always annoying.

 

Karl-Anthony Towns OVER 21.5 points -117 1.17 unit to win 1 unit: Towns has taken a bit to get back to his normal self after coming off a bad case of Covid. He is averaging 21.0 PPG on 14.7 shot attempts and 2.0 FT attempts since returning. Before he was out with Covid he was averaging 22.0 PPG on 15.8 shot attempts and 6.3 FT attempts in a small four-game sample size, going over in three of those games. The Wolves will be without Dlo again tonight so we should see similar numbers to what we saw last year where he was averaging 26.0 PPG. 

 

The Lakers have been great defensively from the frontcourt but will be without Anthony Davis again tonight. If Davis was playing I would be avoiding this play for the risk of a blowout, but with only a 6.5 point spread KAT should be able to play a majority of the game. The Lakers play at their similar 98 possessions per game and allow a similar defensive rating with towns off the floor. It is mainly their offensive rating that drops which helps them keep games closer and not blowout teams.
