NBA Trends and Line Movement (3/2)

Justin Bales
03-02-2021

The new Bet Karma NBA Trends page is designed to show the line movement in team totals, the spread, and game totals. Each section features the opening number, live number, and difference between the two. The movement is taken from the DraftKings Sportsbook

In this article, I’ll breakdown the movement from one game with the corresponding player prop bet from our Prop Predictor. All of our player props can be found on the Live Odds page by clicking “view props” for each individual game.

New York Knicks vs San Antonio Spurs

The New York Knicks opened as +3.5 point road underdogs to the San Antonio Spurs. The line has shifted 5 points throughout the day, and the Knicks are now -1.5 point favorites. The game total opened at 216.5 points and dropped to 216 thus far. New York’s team total increased from 106.5 to 108.75, while San Antonio’s dipped from 110 to 107.25.

These teams have both been above average against the spread (ATS) this season. New York’s covered in 57.1% of their games, while San Antonio’s covered in 56.7% of theirs. Surprisingly, the Spurs have only covered in 47.1% of their home games. The Knicks have quietly covered in 55.6% of their road contests.

These teams have also consistently found the under in their games. San Antonio and New York have hit the under in 56.7% and 65.7% of their games this season. The Spurs own a 7-10 over/under record at home, while the Knicks own a 4-14 record on the road.

There are a few bets our Prop Predictor likes tonight with one standing above the rest. Derrick Rose’s rebound total is set at 2.5, but he owns a 3.2 Karma Projection. His projections give him an A+ Karma Grade.

You can view all of our player props for this game by clicking here

Rose is averaging 2.2 rebounds in 23.3 minutes per game through 25 games. He’s averaging 2.6 rebounds in 24.6 minutes per game with the Knicks. Rose has posted 3+ rebounds in 3 of his last 4 games.

With Elfrid Payton unlikely to play, Rose should play 30+ minutes once again tonight. He’s consistently found success when getting extended run and tonight should be no different. It’s no surprise our Prop Predictor loves this bet.
