Welcome to my latest edition of the NHL dice roll. I strive to spotlight betting angles to exploit, and taking a look at today's schedule, there are 12 teams taking to the ice. When I find a wager that I feel strong enough to play myself, I post it on Bet Karma.
There have been many features just added to the Bet Karma site. Make sure to check out: betting trends, live odds page, and our prop predictor.
Yesterday's dice roll went 1-0
Season record 20-12, +11.54 units.
Let's look at who I like from tonight's NHL slate:
(all lines shown are from DraftKings Sportsbook)
Mikko Rantanen to score at least 1 goal (+140)/Play 1 unit to 1.40 units
Rantanen has finally heated up again after a seven-game scoreless streak with three goals in his last four games. He is a streaky player as shown by the sixgame goal scoring binge he had from January 15-26. He is the team's leader with 10 goals, while the next closest skater has six. Rantanen seems to find the net easily against the Ducks with a goal in each of the two games he's faced them this season. I think he shows why he is Colorado's scoring leader by lighting the lamp at least once tonight.

Colorado -1.5 goals (+100)/Play 1 unit to win 1 unit
Colorado has had success at home so far this season, going 5-3. Conversely, Anaheim is 3-5-2 on the road, and are in the midst of an eight-game losing streak. While the Avalanche have struggled to score consistently, it's been their strong defense that has given them the chance to win almost every game in 2021. Colorado's defensive prowess should shut down this Anaheim team who really struggles to score, only averaging a dismal 2.04 goals per game. On top of that, the Avalanche are fifth best in the NHL, only allowing 2.4 goals per game. I'm not sure that the Ducks get on the board at all in what should be an easy win for the Avs by at least 2 goals.
