NBA Trends and Line Movement (3/13)

The new Bet Karma NBA Trends page is designed to show the line movement in team totals, spreads, and game totals. Each section features the opening number, live number, and difference between the two. The movement is taken from the DraftKings Sportsbook. 

 

In this article, I’ll breakdown the movement from one game with the corresponding player prop bet from our Prop Predictor. All of our player props can be found on the Live Odds page by clicking “view props” for each individual game. 

 

Dallas Mavericks vs Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets opened as 3 point home favorites against the Dallas Mavericks tonight. The lines shifted 5 points toward Dallas, though, with the Mavericks currently being 2 point road favorites. The game total opened at 226.5 points but dropped to 225 throughout the day. Dallas’ team total increased from 111.75 to 113.5, while Denver’s dropped from 114.25 to 111.5. 

 

Neither team found success against the spread (ATS) this season. The Nuggets have covered in 46% of their games, while the Mavericks have covered in only 44.4% of theirs. Denver’s struggled even more at home, where they own a 6-10 ATS record. Dallas has been slightly better on the road, where they’ve recorded a 9-9 ATS record this season. 

 

These teams have been opposites in terms of the game total. The Nuggets have found the over in 62.2% of their games. The Mavericks have hit the over in only 47.2% of their contests. Denver boasts a similar percentage at home, while Dallas dips to only a 44.4% over rate on the road.
