NBA Trends and Line Movement (3/17)

03-17-2021

The new Bet Karma NBA Trends page is designed to show the line movement in team totals, the spread, and game totals. Each section features the opening number, live number, and difference between the two. The movement is taken from the DraftKings Sportsbook

In this article, I’ll breakdown the movement from one game with the corresponding player prop bet from our Prop Predictor. All of our player props can be found on the Live Odds page by clicking “view props” for each individual game.

Sacramento Kings vs Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards opened as -3 point home favorites over the Sacramento Kings. The lines shifted 1 point toward Sacramento, though, as Washington is currently a -2 point favorite. The game total opened at 245.5 points, moving to 247 throughout the day. The Kings' team total increased from 121.25 to 122.5, while the Wizards jumped from 124.25 to 124.5.

Neither team's been successful against the spread (ATS) this season. Washington’s covered in 50% of their games, while Sacramento’s covered in only 41% of theirs. The Wizards have struggled quite a bit of home, where they own a 9-11 ATS record. Surprisingly, the Kings have been better on the road, where they boast a 9-9 ATS record this season.

Both teams have found the over throughout this season. Washington’s hit the over in 55.3% of their games with Sacramento finding the over in 64.1% of theirs. The Wizards have hit the over in 70% of their home games, though. The Kings have been slightly worse on the road, covering the over in 55.6% of their road contests.

This game features one elite bet, according to our Prop Predictor. Harrison Barnes’ assist total is set at 2.5, but he boasts a 3.5 Karma Projection. This prop earns an A+ Karma Grade.

Barnes is averaging 3.5 assists in 35.4 minutes per game through 36 contests this season. He’s only averaging 2.7 assists in 35.4 minutes per game since the All-Star Break, though. With that being said, he’s posted 3+ assists in 6 of his last 8 games.

This game will feature a blazing pace, allowing Barnes to find extra opportunities for assists. He’s consistently found the over in recent games, and it’s easy to see why our Prop Predictor loves the over tonight.
