NBA Trends and Line Movement (3/31)

The new Bet Karma NBA Trends page is designed to show the line movement in team totals, spreads, and game totals. Each section features the opening number, live number, and difference between the two. The movement is taken from the DraftKings Sportsbook. 

 

In this article, I’ll breakdown the movement from one game with the corresponding player prop bet from our Prop Predictor. All of our player props can be found on the Live Odds page by clicking “view props” for each game. 

 

Dallas Mavericks vs Boston Celtics

The Dallas Mavericks opened as 1 point road favorites against the Boston Celtics today. The lines shifted 2 points toward Boston, as Dallas is now a 1 point underdog. The game total opened at 225 points, dropping to 222 throughout the day. The Mavericks team total dipped from 113 to 110.5, while the Celtics decreased from 112 to 111.5. 

 

Both teams have struggled against the spread (ATS) this season. Dallas’ covered in only 46.7% of their games, while Boston’s covered in 46.8%. The Celtics have been significantly better at home, where they own a 12-9 ATS record. Surprisingly, the Mavs have been better on the road, where they boast a 13-11 ATS record. 

 

These teams have been opposites in terms of the game total. Boston’s hit the over in 53.2% of their games, while Dallas’ found the under in 55.6% of their contests. The Celtics own a 10-11 over/under record at home this season, though. The Mavs own a similar road over/under record at 11-13.
