05-05-2021

The new Bet Karma NBA Trends page is designed to show the line movement in team totals, the spread, and game totals. Each section features the opening number, live number, and difference between the two. The movement is taken from the DraftKings Sportsbook

In this article, I’ll break down the movement from one game with a corresponding player prop bet from our Prop Predictor. All of our player props can be found on the Live Odds page by clicking “view props” for each game.

Portland Blazers vs Cleveland Cavaliers

The Portland Blazers opened as -11 point road favorites against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The line shifted slightly toward Portland, as they are now -12 point favorites. The game total opened at 225.5 points, increasing to 229 throughout the day. The Blazers team total jumped from 118.25 to 120.5, while the Cavs team total moved from 107.25 to 108.5.

Portland’s seen mixed results against the spread (ATS) this season, covering in only 50.8% of their games. Cleveland’s struggling significantly more, covering in only 36.9% of their contests. The Cavs have been slightly better at home, where they own a 14-18 ATS record this season. The Blazers quietly boast a 20-13 road ATS record, though.

These teams are opposites in terms of the total. Portland’s hit the over in 53.8% of their games, while Cleveland’s found the under in 54% of theirs. The Cavs lean toward the over at home, though, where they possess a 17-14-1 over/under record. The Blazers enter this game with a 20-13 over/under record.

Our Prop Predictor loves a few bets in this game. Cedi Osman’s assist total is set at 5.5 tonight. He owns a Karma Projection of 3.9, though, giving the under an A+ Karma Grade.

Osman’s averaging 2.8 assists in 25.1 minutes per game through 55 contests this season. He’s been playing a bigger role recently, averaging 4.8 assists in 34.5 minutes per game over the last 10 days. Overall, he’s posted 6+ assists in only 2 of his last 10 games.

Osman’s expected to continue to play massive minutes as Cleveland deals with several injuries. Even in bigger minutes, he hasn’t consistently found high-end assist numbers. The under tonight is our Prop Predictors favorite bet of the game.
