Austin Rivers Over 1.5 3s -125 1.25 units to win 1 unit: Let's get a little risky tonight. Rivers has slid into the starting role with the absence of Barton and Dozier. Once a 10-day contract player for the Nuggets is now a playoff starter and will play a key role in the success of the Nuggets for the series. Rivers has been a phenomenal 3 point shooter his whole career now finds himself in a nice spot in Denver tonight. He is a career 35% 3 point shooter and this year that number is up to 37%. Since joining Denver this season, he has played 15 games and started in 5. As a starter, he is averaging 2.0 3s on 5.2 attempts a game; shooting 38.5%. In the regular season, the only game he went under in was the game he only played 20 minutes and shot one attempt. So, if we exclude that game he is averaging 2.5 3s made on 6.3 attempts; shooting 40% in four starts. In his first playoff game, he got up five attempts and only sunk one of them. In that game, he had three wide-open 3s and two open 3s; according to NBA.com/stats closest defender stats. I usually prefer going over on role players in the playoffs at home compared to on the road. Role players always play better at home. So Rivers should find himself going over tonight if the volume continues.
