The Bet Karma MLB Trends page is designed to show the line movement in team totals, the moneyline, and game totals. Each section features the opening number, live number, and difference between the two. The movement is taken from the DraftKings Sportsbook.
In this article, I’ll break down the line movement from one game with a corresponding player prop bet from our Prop Predictor. All of our player props can be found on the Live Odds page by clicking “view props” for each game.
The New York Yankees opened as -132 road favorites against the Minnesota Twins. The odds have widened, as New York is now a -141 favorite. The game total opened at 10.5 runs, increasing to 11 throughout the day. Overall, the Yankees team total jumped from 6 to 6.4, while the Twins held steady at 4.9.
These have been two of the worst teams in the MLB in terms of the run line. New York’s covered in only 40.3% of their games, while Minnesota’s covered the run line a league-low 31.1% of the time. The Twins have been even worse at home, posting an 8-23 run line record this season. The Yankees have struggled on the road, though, entering this game with a 13-16 road run line record.
These teams are opposites in terms of the game total this season. Minnesota’s found the over in a league-high 67.2% of their games, while New York’s hit the under in 59% of their contests. The Twins have also recorded a 19-11-1 home over/under record. The Yankees bring a 12-17 road over/under record into this game.
