Cap's 2021 NFL Season Player Futures

Welcome back, Karma Nation! Let's take a look at three season-long NFL player futures that I think are worthwhile for the upcoming 2021 season. To find all of the other staff’s favorite bets, make sure to sign up for the Premium package.

All futures odds are based on DraftKings Sportsbook. Lines may vary based on the time you are reading this or if you are using a different sportsbook. Check out where to bet to find other sportsbooks in your state. Let's dive in.

Justin Fields to Take Chicago Bears First Snap in 2021/2022 NFL Regular Season (+190 Yes)

If you watched the Chicago Bears first preseason game, then you saw just how significantly better rookie Justin Fields was than incumbent starter Andy Dalton. With the high draft capital invested into Fields and two more preseason games to go, I like the odds on this futures bet that Fields will end up winning the starting job in training camp and taking the first snap for the Chicago Bears this season.

Bet 1 unit on Justin Fields to take first snap (+190) to win 2.9 units

Mac Jones to Take New England Patriots First Snap in 2021/2022 NFL Regular Season (+250 Yes)

Much like fellow 2021 NFL Draft Class quarterback Justin Fields, Mac Jones looked much better than the presumed start, Cam Newton. Jones ran the offense more efficiently and looked more poised than Newton, who could quickly be relegated to career backup duties. Jones has a few more weeks to get more comfortable in the offense and the future of the franchise seems to be now for the Alabama product.

Bet 1 unit on Mac Jones to take first snap (+250) to win 3.5 units

Drew Lock to Take Denver Broncos First Snap in 2021/2022 NFL Regular Season (-130 Yes)

In one game of preseason action, Lock looked like the better quarterback in the current training camp battle between him and Teddy Bridgewater. While it's only preseason, the Broncos are much more likely to give the guy they invested significant, recent draft capital in the benefit of the doubt to begin the season. Lock presents the higher upside of the two quarterbacks if he were to play well, which is why the Broncos are going to give him the first snap of their season. What happens after that remains to be seen.

Bet 1 unit on Drew Lock to take first snap (-130) to win 1.30 units
