Thursday Night Football will feature the red-hot Carolina Panthers and the hosting Houston Texans; It has been a near-perfect start for Matt Rhule and the Panthers. The Panthers bought in the former 3rd overall pick in the form of Sam Darnold. The former USC standout has been impressive in his first couple of starts for the Panthers leading Carolina to a 2-0 start and a perfect 2-0 ATS, more importantly for gamblers. On the flip side of the script, the Houston Texans, who were expected to be one of the worst teams in the NFL with a team total of 4 wins, will play post to the hot trending Panthers. The Texans had been led at quarterback by veteran Tyrod Taylor. However, a Taylor injury will force the hand of rookie QB Davis Mills. Mills, former Stanford signal-caller, will make the first start of his young NFL Carrerr Thursday. The Panthers are currently a -7.5 point road favorite for this primetime battle.

The play we are going to attack in this game is a player prop. Robby Anderson over 44.5 yards -114. I love this spot for Anderson vs. a weak Texans secondary. The Texans' defense has not been awful so far this year. However, one of their matchups was against one of the worst offenses in the NFL in the Jacksonville Jaguars. Despite being a weaker offense, the Jaguar's wide receivers still had their way. Four Jaguars players went over the 44.5 receiving yard mark against this Houston secondary. The Panthers will look for their passing game, whether up or down, for the vast majority of this game. Sam Darnold threw the ball 35 times in week 1 and 38 in week 2. Anderson is explosive enough to get this in one play, as he displayed in week one vs. the Jags. Anderson had just one catch, but it was for 57 yards. I expect much more volume in this game for Anderson, however, as they look to blend him into their offense more often. I also see this game being much closer and staying very competitive, which will force more action for Anderson. I love how this script is set. Let's cash it in.
