We have finally made it to the end of the road.
This college football season was truly incredible and filled to the brim with storylines. We began this trek in Dublin, Ireland way back in August and culminate with a gatorade bath and trophy raising in SoFi Stadium tonight. There are 131 Division 1 FCS football programs but only two remain:
The TCU Horned Frogs and the Georgia Bulldogs.
One is a 200-1 preseason underdog while the other is the defending National Champions. A first year coach who brings a 7-1 record in one score games vs the new "King of the Hill" of college football. A plucky underdog completely overlooked by 5 star recruits and the national attention until they were 12-0 vs. an NFL hot-bed in a college sports crazed Georgia town.
Ok that's about enough cryptic hyberbole for our last article.
It's TIME!
National Championship Game - #3 TCU vs. #1 Georgia - 7:30 PM - ESPN
You'd be hard pressed to find two more deserving teams to battle it out for the title.
TCU has had an incredible 2022 season. As I mentioned above, they were a complete afterthought entering this season behind coach Sonny Dykes and QB Max Duggan. I saw articles published before the season started that didn't have them finishing in the top 5 of the Big 12. To that, they say "Good, we had bigger goals anyways."
Georgia meanwhile, is Goliath. Another undefeated season and another opportunity to put a stamp on the middle of a dynasty. Yet, unlike last season, questions swirl around the red and black Bulldogs from Athens.
"They're not as good as last year."
"Stetson Bennett can only game manage."
"The SEC was weak."
Yet here they are again and this time, as a 13 point favorite.
Speaking of the betting line, lets get to what you're all here for. What is my pick for the National Championship game??
I said to our discord and anyone I came within a stone's throw last weekend... I will NEVER not bet the over in a playoff game again when I'm already leaning that way. I made a gruesome mistake last week by not giving you both overs for the playoffs even though I loved them. I did this because I took O/U's in the first 3 bets of the weekend and didn't want to just provide totals.
Dumb, I know. But hey, this was Year 1 at Bet Karma with hopefully many more to come. I'll learn from these mistakes. Starting tonight.
You're going to hear a whole lot about how the pubic is on the over. Based on our incredible Live Trends Tab, it shows 73% of the public pounding away at over 62.5 in real time. I don't care. I've watched entirely too much of both of these teams to sit here and convince you all there won't be 63+ points tonight. The offenses are too explosive, the defenes have too many question marks of late, the formula is written in the stars.
POINTS!
The Pick: OVER 62.5 -110
I want to thank you all again so much for reading and following along this season. I had a blast bringing you my spin each week and improved immensely as a handicapper.
This is only just the beginning.
PS - I hope you're also following my NFL picks where I'm scorching hot. SIX winning weeks in a row with a ridiculous 69% success rate as we storm into the Playoffs.
Good Luck!
