&ldquo;A tradition unlike any other.&rdquo; It is Masters Week and we have arrived to the first major of the year! Arguably the favorite and most popular tournament on the entire PGA Tour schedule takes place this weekend at Augusta National Golf Club. Augusta National has been the host to some of the most triumphant victories as well as ending hopes of sporting the green jacket in utter turmoil. The biggest storyline this week has been the potential return of Tiger Woods. As of today, Tiger plans on playing the week and competing for yet another green jacket. He will have to go up against a stacked field and hasn&rsquo;t played competitive golf in quite some time.&nbsp;

Augusta National has some of the most beautiful backdrops in all of golf with its rolling hills and flowers and plants that pay tribute to its past as a nursery prior to becoming the most iconic golf club in the world. Past success and familiarity with the course will be huge this week. Knowing the greens and where to hit fairways this week will be more crucial than at many other courses and tournaments. Veterans will know every shot that they need to hit and where they need to be positioned&mdash;however, getting to those spots is easier said than done. Longer hitters have historically and statistically had an advantage here as well as those that are hitting greens and setting up scoring opportunities. Driving accuracy is not statistically or historically important here while approach and short game have been good indicators in the past.

The only major changes to the well-known course this year is that the 11th&nbsp;and 15th&nbsp;hole have both been lengthened which adds to the 7,510 yardage total. The uneven lies and infinite undulation on the fairways and greens will still be present as well on every hole. Elevation changes can disguise the yardage and complicate the club selection that can leave you in tight lies in the rough or wet in Ray&rsquo;s Creek&mdash;just ask former champions Jordan Spieth and Sergio Garcia. Outside of the actual course, the biggest challenge is just the tournament itself. This is a major championship where even the best golfers in the world fall victim to pressure, nerves, and the emotional/mental strain that comes with competing for a major championship.

Hideki Matsuyama is struggling with injury so it will be interesting how healthy he is to defend his title this week. Plenty of other storylines including the return of Tiger, Rory seeking the grand slam, and some of the young exciting players chasing the green jacket will play center stage this week. Let&rsquo;s take a look at some of the best bets to make this week.

I am not going to overthink this one. JT is one of the best players in the world and has been playing practice rounds at with Tiger at Augusta the last couple of weeks. He has experience here but you know that he has been watching Tiger play these holes and gained tips and additional insight on how to approach and win here from the GOAT himself. JT ranks out in the Top 10 in just about every statistical category and six Top 10 finishes in his last nine starts. I see him joining his good friends Tiger and Jordan at the Masters Champion&rsquo;s Dinner next year as the host and defending champion.

Will Zalatoris | Outright&nbsp;+3500 (1&nbsp;Unit), Top 10 +250 (1 Unit)

I am looking at great ball strikers and approach game which is why I am betting on Zalatoris this week. If you watched the match play, despite advancing out of his group he didn&rsquo;t play as well as he could have. One thing that he was doing was holing just about every putt that he made. If you remember, he finished second here last year and has been quoted recently that he has thought about his Masters finish almost every day since last year. Hovland and Morikawa garner a lot of the attention for the next era of golfers but Zalatoris should not be overlooked this week. He leads the field in SG Approach as well as Approach from 200+ yards at ANGC. He also has four Top 10 finishes in his last seven starts dating back to the QBE Shootout.&nbsp;

Daniel Berger |&nbsp;Outright +4000 (2 Units)

Daniel Berger is due for a win and has the game to compete and win at Augusta. He has five Top 20 finishes in his last seven starts and should have won the Honda Classic before crumbling with a final round 74 and finishing fourth. His best finish here is a Top 10 in 2018 but he has the experience and the driving and approach that you need this week. He ranks inside the Top 10 in the field in Good Driving, SG Approach, and Bogey Avoidance.

Brooks Koepka | Outright +2000 (2 Units)

This is my obligatory and FOMO bet and out of respect for the fact that he has openly stated that he only cares about the bigger tournaments and it doesn&rsquo;t get much bigger than this week. He had a T-5 at the Match Play and a T-3 at the Waste Management so far this season. But he also missed the cut at the Genesis and The Players. But back to course history and betting the best players in the world&mdash;Koepka has three finishes in the Top 10 here.&nbsp;

Russell Henley | Top 10 +300 (2 Units)

I am not a huge fan of his outright number given the better golfers that are at the same odds. However, Henley has not missed the cut in a tournament in his last twelve starts which includes five Top 15s and three other Top 25s. He is third in SG Approach and can limit the big numbers with his good driving and approach. He has three finishes here in the Top 21 including a 11th&nbsp;place finish in 2017. I like his game and form coming into this week.&nbsp;

Cam Smith | Outright +1400 (1 Unit)

The fact that JT is listed at +1200 has me reconsidering this pick. JT is one of the best golfers in the world and has six Top 10 finishes as well as two other Top 20s in his last nine starts. On the other hand, he hasn&rsquo;t won any of these despite the high finishes. Now take a look at Cam Smith. His last seven starts have yielded five Top 15 finishes that includes two victories. I am not saying that JT doesn&rsquo;t have what it takes to win but I do like the fact that Cam has put together four full days that led to a victory. Cam also has the history here as the only golfer to ever shoot in the 60s all four days. Cam has three top 10 finishes here and is in excellent form.

Webb Simpson | Outright +13000 (1 Unit), Top 20 +275 (3 Units)

Webb has struggled with injuries over the last few months but this number is crazy for a guy of his caliber. He has not been in the best form but I expect him to get back to his past form this week and get back in a groove here in the early part of the season. He has finished in the Top 20 each of the last four with two of those also being Top 10s in 2020 and 2019. I think he has had enough time off to rest and get his game sorted out.

PGA Expert Picks: The Masters

The PGA Tour returns to regular stroke play this week at the Valero Open in San Antonio after last week&rsquo;s Dell Match Play in Austin. This tournament seems to be flying under radar with the Masters next week and Tiger Woods playing practice rounds at Augusta National, but there is some good value to be had this week as we gear up for the first major of the year.

&nbsp;

TPC San Antonio is the host once again for the Valero Open. Jordan Spieth will look to defend his title as other golfers will be competing to win and receive an invite to the Masters next week. Historically, some golfers have used this tournament as a &ldquo;warm up&rdquo; or a chance to work on shot shapes for the Masters and have not taken this as seriously as they otherwise would have. Spieth partially debunked that last year but I would monitor any storylines or insight about players that are using this week to find their form rather than competing at their usual standards.

&nbsp;

TPC San Antonio is a Par 72 course with Bermuda greens. There is no &ldquo;Bear Trap&rdquo; or &ldquo;Snake Pit&rdquo; to deal with this week but the golfers will have to deal with windy conditions that can make this course play more difficult than it is. The percentage of fairways hit are below the Tour average. This is due in part to the punishing Texas winds that can engulf this course at any given time. Two of the Par 5s will play longer than 600 yards and does not yield many scoring opportunities.

When looking at the past few winners of this tournament they all have one thing in common&mdash;they are excellent ball strikers. Ball-striking and approach will be key this week especially if weather conditions are less than ideal. That also brings into play strokes gained off the tee and will be crucial this week. Four of the last five winners of this tournament have ranked inside the Top 10 in this stat and will be important again this week. Full disclosure, my betting card will be relatively small this week before the Masters next week.

Chris Kirk | Outright&nbsp;+2500 (1&nbsp;Unit)

Chris Kirk is a Horse for the Course this week. He has made the cut here five out of seven times and has translated that into three Top 10s and another Top 15 finish. He also comes into this week in great form with a T-5 at the API, T-7 at the Honda, and T-14 at the Waste Management. He is gaining more than two strokes on approach and has the extra motivation to win this week and get that coveted Masters invite.

Patton Kizzire |&nbsp;Outright +5500 (1 Unit)

I feel like Kizzire comes out of nowhere sometimes and makes a run at a tournament win about two to three times a year&mdash;I feel like this may be one of those weeks.&nbsp;He has made the cut in seven of his last nine starts and posted a Top 10 finish at the Waste Management. His only start here was last year when he posted a ninth place finish. He ranks fifth in SG Approach and tenth in SG Total. He also gains strokes putting on Bermuda. Bermuda is his best putting surface which is good since his putter is what holds him back most weeks. I like Kizzire this week on Bermuda and playing in a tournament that should be pretty wide open. He has a multiple time winner on the Tour and has much better winning pedigree and ability than the other golfers with similar betting odds.

Congratulations to Cam Smith on winning The Players and overcoming the difficult playing conditions and taking home the highest single tournament payout in PGA Tour history with a fat $3.2 million dollar direct deposit. The tournament took four days to complete with two of those days being absolute carnage on the golf course. There were a lot of big names that missed the cut and others, like Scott Piercy and Xander Schauffele, that had a couple of bad holes that took them from contention to completely missing the cut.

&nbsp;

This week is the Valspar Championship and is a surprisingly strong field considering it follows The Players. This week the Innisbrook Resort and Copperhead Course play host to the Valspar in Tampa. Once again, there is rain and storms in the forecast where we could see similar playing conditions to last week. The Copperhead Course has the &ldquo;Snake Pit&rdquo; which is similar to the idea behind the &ldquo;Bear Trap&rdquo; a couple of weeks ago at PGA National. The Snake Pit is the three-hole stretch from holes 16 to 18 and is comprised of a 475 yard Par 4, a long Par 3 with a false front that punishes short shots, and the an exciting finishing hole with a Par 4 that can lead to bogey or worse if placement off the tee is less than ideal. This course is lined with trees and littered with doglegs that makes finding the fairway a critical piece to compete here. Per usual, strokes gained on approach will be key this week as well as finding greens and making birdies while avoiding bogeys. I know&mdash;this sounds pretty obvious but winners here in the past have avoided the big numbers and gain strokes with great iron play and ball-striking. Looking at past champions like Sam Burns, Adam Hadwin, Kevin Streelman, and Luke Donald it is easy to see that being long off the tee should not be an advantage and the primarily shorter, more precise hitters will have a clear advantage this week.

Russell Knox | Outright&nbsp;+7000 (1&nbsp;Unit), Top 20 +280 (2 Units)

If you are a member of the BetKarma Discord Channel then you saw my post that I was betting an outright on Russell Knox late Wednesday night before the tournament started. Knox was in contention during the final round of the Players before eventually dwindling and finishing T-6. Knox does have two Top 10s in his last seven starts and also has three other Top 35 finishes. This is a course that sets up nicely for him where he is not punished for his distance and is rewarded for his accuracy, approach game, and putting. Knox is 10th in driving accuracy and 2nd in greens in regulation. His GIR is aided by his Top 10 ranking in strokes gained on approach. He pushed through the poor playing conditions last week in the strongest field of the year and posted a Top 10. He has four Top 25s here so I can see him competing to win here and at the least, post a Top 20 and build on his strong performance last week.

Jason Kokrak |&nbsp;Outright +2200 (1 Unit)

There were two guys that I liked here at this number with Kokrak and Mathew Fitzpatrick&mdash;I decided to bet the former. He has made his last eight cuts hat included a win at the Houston Open back in November. Last week wasn&rsquo;t a great showing but I&rsquo;m not holding that against him given the playing conditions. Before that, he had finished T-26 or better in his previous three starts. One of the things that I do love about Kokrak this week is his ability to get a hot putter and his course history. Aside from a 58th place finish in 2017 and missed cut in 2016, Kokrak has not finished worse than 14th. He has five Top 15 finishes including three Top 10s. I may place a bet on a Top 10 finish for Kokrak as well.

Abraham Ancer | Top 20 +180 (2 Units)

Ancer has not been in the best form lately and hasn&rsquo;t posted anything better than a T-33 in his last six starts. With that being said, he is still one of the better players in the world and can compete any week, especially at a course like Copperhead that requires accuracy off of the tee. He ranks inside the Top 10 in driving accuracy this season while he is losing a lot of strokes on approach and missing the greens. If he can just turn around his approach game, even nominally, then he can easily post a Top 20 or better here like he has in his only two appearances at the Valspar where he finished 5th and 16th. I see a lot of value here and see Ancer turning it around this week.

PGA Expert Picks: Valspar Championship

The PGA Tour is set to host one of the most exciting tournaments of the season and the unofficial fifth major this week at The Players Championship. TPC Sawgrass is the host once again and you will see plenty of footage of the famous 17th&nbsp;Island Green and then the even more daunting 18th&nbsp;hole to close out each round. For as much attention as the island green at 17 is, the 18th&nbsp;hole is just as difficult. Nevertheless, both of these holes will be fun to watch this weekend.

&nbsp;

TPC Sawgrass should play much softer than Bay Hill last week. Rory caught some heat for his comments after the last tournament but to be fair, the comments were taken somewhat out of context and he had a few fair points about how difficult the course was playing last week. TPC Sawgrass is going to have its own challenges even if it is playing softer and &ldquo;easier&rdquo; than Bay Hill last week. Sawgrass is Pete Dye&rsquo;s most famous designs and can play difficult when the weather and conditions are subpar&mdash;the current weather forecast could yield some difficult playing conditions. The greens here are smaller and play fast. Approach and proximity to the hole this week will be important and ability to stay out of the water will be just as crucial. Water is present on all but one hole at Sawgrass and can lead to big numbers on the scorecard. There is plenty of incentive to play this week since it will be the largest purse of the year at $20 million and the winner will be taking home $3.6 million. Not a bad pay day for playing golf for four days.

If you recall back in 2020 Hideki had tied the course record in his first round at Sawgrass before the Tour cancelled the tournament due to Covid. Hideki has been playing very well with a win at the Zozo and the Sony Open along with a T-8 at the Waste Management and a T-20 at the API. He didn&rsquo;t make the cut here last year but set the course record the year before and had an 8th&nbsp;place finish in 2019. He also has four other Top 25 finishes here since 2014. Hidkei gained over 4.5 strokes on approach last week and ranks 11th&nbsp;in the field in strokes gained T2G. Don&rsquo;t get thrown off by his one-handed finishes this week as he sets himself up for plenty of scoring opportunities.

Brooks Koepka |&nbsp;Outright +3500 (1 Unit), Top 10 +450 (1 Unit)

Brooks has been quiet lately&mdash;a little too quiet. Brooks has made it clear that he really only cares about the big tournaments and The Players easily checks that off. His odds started out as high as +5500 but have come back down since then. Koepka hasn&rsquo;t been stellar here and he has been a little inconsistent so far this year but he is still one of the best players in the world and is capable of winning any time he tees it up. This bet is more for respect of Brooks showing up to the big events than it is looking at how he ranks out statistically. His best finish here is an 11th&nbsp;place finish but I think he can grind it out this weekend and make a legitimate run at the trophy and the big paycheck.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Corey Conners | Outright +5000 (1 Unit)

Corey Conners sets up well for this week and he should play well at Sawgrass. He is an elite ball striker and accurate off the tee which will benefit him greatly this week. After a rough start to the API last week he recovered nicely and actually found himself within a few shots of the lead on Sunday before settling for a T-11 finish. He had a 7th&nbsp;place finish here last year and can build on that this year. I like that he has experience at this course and has the game to win at Sawgrass.

I am still recovering from watching Daniel Berger give away a five stroke lead going into the final round and not cashing on our outright bet that we had&nbsp;at 16-1&nbsp;last week. I also referenced Shane Lowry as an outright and had a small sprinkle bet on him as well. PGA National is an extremely difficult course and Daniel Berger experienced that first hand on Sunday. Not cashing this outright bet on Berger may hurt for a little while but as the great Bill Belichick says &ldquo;We&rsquo;re on to next week.&rdquo;

&nbsp;

So with that, we head to the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Golf Course in Bay Hill, Florida. Golfers are going to see water on just about every hole this week and right before just every shot. If they can&rsquo;t see the water then it will be because they are blinded by the more than 80 bunkers that inhabit this course. These bunkers and hazards make the course play much longer than its actual yardage due to the requirement to hit strategical shots that may not include using a driver off of the tee. Par 3s will play long this week with some measuring between 200-225 yards. Strokes gained on approach are always important but even more so this week. Strokes gained off the tee will also be crucial since distance is important but it won&rsquo;t matter if the accuracy doesn&rsquo;t accompany the shot down the fairway. Missing fairways is going to lead to penalty shots or difficult scrambling for par. I will also be taking a look at ball striking and putting since Bay Hill has some of the fastest greens on Tour ad play as some of the most difficult. Aside from these stats, I will also take course history into account more than normal. One reason for that is that we have plenty of course history to look at since Bay Hill has been a long time host of the tournament but also because we see some of the same golfers finish well here year after year. Knowing your way around a course as difficult as Bay Hill will be a huge advantage over some of the first timers that will be learning some of these holes and devising a strategy on the fly.

Jason Kokrak was one of the first guys that I was interested to see where his odds were going to land this week and I love the value here. He finished 8th&nbsp;here last year and also has two other Top 10 finishes as well as an 18thplace finish and a 10th&nbsp;place finish in the last three years. Overall, Kokrak has six Top 25 finishes here with four of those being Top 10s so I love the course history. I feel like he flies under the radar way too much considering the last calendar year that he has had that included two wins, twelve Top 25s, and five Top 10s. He ranks first in the field on Par 3s that play longer than 215 yards and can wield one of the hottest putters when he gets rolling. He has the length and approach game to compete here as he has shown in years past.

Will Zalatoris |&nbsp;Outright +2500 (1 Unit)

You are going to see much of the PGA betting community on Zalatoris this week and I will tell you why: he leads the field in approach over the last ten rounds and also leads the field in proximity to the hole from beyond 200 yards which is where a large number of approach shots will be taken from this week at Bay Hill. Bermuda is his best putting surface so he should have an advantage on the greens this week. He had a quiet second place finish at The Farmers (or maybe it seemed quiet to me since I didn&rsquo;t have any action on him) and had a T-6 at the American Express. He did play this tournament last year and finished tenth in his debut here.

Keith Mitchell | Outright +3500 (1 Unit)

I am absolutely kicking myself for not placing a Top 10 wager on Keith Mitchell last week since he was one of my favorite outright bets last week. He finished T-9 and that was after a couple of slow rounds and a few bad holes before he fired a 69 and 68 to finish the weekend and notched yet another Top 10 finish. Aside from his missed cut at the Farmers Insurance, Keith hasn&rsquo;t had anything worse than a T-12 finish in his last six starts that dates back to November. He also has two Top 10 finishes here in 2020 and 2019 finishing 5th&nbsp;and 6th, respectively. He has the distance off the tee and can score on Par 5s so he shouldn&rsquo;t leave the Par 5s without a red number that should help propel him up the leaderboard this week.&nbsp;

PGA Expert Picks: Arnold Palmer Invitational

Congratulations to Joaquin Niemann on his victory the Genesis Invitational! It is not often that you see a golfer go wire-to-wire and be able to go through the physical and mental grind that it takes to win on the PGA Tour.

The Tour has completed the West Coast swing and makes its way to Florida for the Honda Classic this week at PGA National. PGA National is a Pete Dye design that has gone through a couple of renovations by Jack Nicklaus as recent as 2014. You will hear plenty of references to the &ldquo;Bear Trap&rdquo; this week which consists of holes 15-17 and plays as one of the most difficult three-hole stretches in all of golf. These three holes played at 230 over par last year and more than 1,600 balls have found the water hazards that weave in, out, and around these holes.

 
According to the PGA Tour, Ryan Palmer has hit the most balls in the water in the Bear Trap since 2007 with 17. On the opposite hand, Russell Knox has played the Bear Trap at six under par during his career which is the best on Tour. PGA National is a course that requires a strong approach game and ability to score on Par 4s since this a Par 70 course. Giving yourself plenty of chances to score will lead to success. Golfers are going to need to score as much as possible outside of the Bear Trap in case they find themselves racking up big numbers in that stretch of difficult holes. Golfers do not need to be long off the tee here since PGA National has one of the lowest average drive yardage. However, longer hitters may still have some advantages if they are able to utilize shorter irons on their second shots into the greens. If these longer hitters are too long, however, then they will find themselves taking a penalty stroke after their balls find the water hazards. Golfers that are accurate off the tee, ball striking, approach, and scoring on Par 4s should find success this week.

Going back to the well here with Russell Knox this week. He has made four out of his last five cuts including a T-7 at the Sony Open. Interestingly enough, Waialae Country Club is a correlating course to PGA National and that is Knox&rsquo;s best finish so far this season. Knox is also a course horse as he has made the last three cuts here and has a second and third place finish in the last two years, respectfully. Also, as I stated in the article preview, Knox has shot six under par in his career at the Bear Trap which is the best of any other player on the PGA Tour. He is making cuts and has good course history&mdash;no reason he can&rsquo;t find a way to put it all together this week.

Daniel Berger |&nbsp;Outright +1600 (1 Unit)

If you want a guy that hits good drives, strikes the ball well, and has a strong approach game then look no further than Daniel Berger. Berger is one of the Tour leaders is SG Approach and Good Drives Gained on the field. The field this week is not a super loaded one, which bodes well for Berger. Berger is one of the top golfers on the Tour and this week sets up great for him to come out with a victory. He missed the cut at the Waste Management but has three straight Top 20 finishes before that including a T-5 at the Sentry TOC and aT-7 at the Hero World Challenge back in December. Berger finished fourth here in 2020 and finished second in 2015 after losing in a playoff against Padraig Harrington. I&rsquo;m all in on Berger this week.&nbsp;

Lucas Glover | Outright +6500 (1 Unit), Top 10 +550 (1 Unit)

There is already plenty of chatter in the PGA betting community about Lucas Glover and for good reason. As I referenced earlier, Waialae Country Club I a strong correlating course and Glover leads the field in SG Total, SG Tee-to-Green, and SG Ball-Striking between both Waialae and PGA National. He also ranks third in SG Approach in that same statistic. What about his recent performance? Nothing too spectacular. He only has one finish better than T-33 in his last five starts but that one finish was a T-5 at the Sony Open at Waialae CC. Course History at PGA National? Yeah, he has that. Glover finished 19th&nbsp;last year but also has two top five finishes and another Top 20 finish here. Glover is my &ldquo;statistical&rdquo; pick this week and I like the odds here.

Keith Mitchell | Outright +3500 (1 Unit)

I was interested to see where Keith Mitchell&rsquo;s odds were going to land this week and I like the number for him at 35/1. Mitchell is another golfer with recent success at the Sony Open where he posted a T-7 back in January. Even more impressive, and a bit under the radar, Mitchell hasn&rsquo;t finished worse than T-12 in his last four cuts made (only missed the cut at the Farmers Open in last five starts). His course history is a little sporadic at PGA National&mdash;in four starts he has two missed cuts and a 53rdplace finish. But he also won this tournament in 2019 and really make a breakthrough on the Tour. Driving distance is not as important but Mitchell is a longer hitter and will be able to club down on many of these holes. This means more accuracy and more distance than the typical shorter hitters. He has one of the best recent forms of anyone in the field this week and has already won this tournament in the past. Place a bet on Keith Mitchell this week.

This article is a great starting place to make your weekly bets but more storylines, further statistical analysis, and additional picks are discussed and proposed in the channel throughout the week. BetKarma Nation had another profitable week and looks to cash in again at one of the most exciting tournaments of the year--The Genesis Invitational.

Riviera Country Club plays host again to Tiger Woods&#39; Genesis Invitational. Riviera demands superb ball-striking to win here. Driving accuracy and green in regulation are usually lower than average at Riviera so I will be putting an emphasis on short game here this week. Driving distance is not necessarily a strict requirement but it will be an advantage for the longer drivers this week. I already referenced the difficulty in hitting greens at Riviera so the longer hitters should have more scoring opportunities over the shorter hitters that will have approach shots of over 175 yards into the longer and much more difficult Par 4s that play over 450 yards. I will be targeting ball strikers that are gaining strokes on approach and that can recover when these greens are missed. I am also going to factor in tournament history and experience. This is one of those courses where experience plays a role in knowing when and how you can miss the greens without bringing big numbers into play. Let&#39;s take a look at a few picks for this week.

Collin Morikawa | Outright&nbsp;+1800 (1&nbsp;Unit)

Morikawa may not be in the best form over the last couple of weeks but he did have a T-5 at the Sentry TOC, T-5 at the Hero World Challenge in December, and a T-7, and 2nd place finish since October. He is also one of the best ball-strikers on the planet and gained more than nine strokes on approach here last year. His T-43 finish was due to his putting that cost him from being in contention over the weekend. He has plenty of distance and I am not concerned with his ball striking. If he is gaining strokes on approach that is similar to last year and can turn his putter around then he can win this tournament by a stroke or two on Sunday.

Dustin Johnson |&nbsp;Outright +1600 (1 Unit)

Two or three years ago you could barely find a number on DJ&nbsp; that was longer than 8-1 or 9-1. Now we get a &quot;not as hot&quot; DJ at a course that he has dominated in the past. He won this tournament in 2017 and has three other Top 10 finishes as well as a T-16 here since 2017. I like this number for DJ. This course is going to be frustrating and there is not a better player to put up with that frustration and overcome a few bad shots than DJ. I mentioned earlier that past experience and success at Riviera would be important this week--other than Bubba, no one has had a better run here than DJ. He&#39;s been quiet--a little too quiet--this might be the week he adds another trophy to the trophy case and claims a victory as Tiger watches on late into the afternoon on Sunday.

Thomas Pieters | Outright +7000 (1 Unit), Top 10 +500 (1 Unit)

Pieters may be a pretty popular pick this week at 70-1 odds when you look at a little bit of past success at Riviera paired with his recent form. He finished T-2 here in 2017 and has not finished worse than T-25 in his last five starts worldwide including two wins. He may not have as much success here as others in the field but Pieters is a great ball-striker and a guy that you can take a flyer on at 70-1. I will also lay a unit on a Top 10 finish. His form right now is among the best in the field.

PGA Expert Picks: The Genesis Invitational

If you are a member of the BetKarma Discord Channel then you saw that we were all over the Tom Hoge outright bet last week as he lifted the trophy at Pebble Beach! Make sure you join the Discord Channel so that you have insight and can engage in conversation about bets and picks right up until the early morning tee times on Thursdays. Let&#39;s take a look at the picks for this week.

The 16th hole at the Waste Management Open is known as the &quot;Most Exciting Hole in Golf.&quot; By the end of the day on Saturdays it usually looks like one of the most elaborate fratrnity parties ever hosted. You will hear eruptions of applause from fans as golfers take dead aim on this Par 3 to garner the loudest cheer as possible. TPC Scottsdale plays host again to the Waste Management Open in the Arizona desert. The greens are firm and will play fast this weekend. Longer drivers wll have an advantage this week but distance off the tee is not required here like other courses such as Torrey Pines. I would look closer at the better ball strikers that find the fairway and set themselves up for plenty of birdie opportunities. Missing the fairways here could be penal if the ball finds the numerous water hazards or cactus lurking off some of the fairways. You also want to take a look at the leaders in Eagle Opportunities since all three of the Par 5s here are reachable in two and allow opportunities to go low. I will be targeting golfers that have had good recent form, close proximity, can score on Par 4s (some of the most difficult holes on the course are Par 4s that play at 450+ yards), and that can capitalize on opportunities. If you want to look at course correlations then look no further than Quail Hollow and Augusta National.

Webb is a course horse here. He won this tournament in 2020, runner up in 2017, and has three Top 10 finishes here. Webb&#39;s irons can get just as hot as his putter and I expect that this week from him. Sure, Webb may not be the same player that he was a couple of years ago but he comes to play at some of these bigger events. I like his odds here with a lot of other big names headlining this event--Webb gets a little lost in the mix here but he has the game to win here at any time despite a sub-par season last year.

Russell Knox |&nbsp;Top 20 +450 (1 Unit)

He let me down last week after making the cut and having plenty of chances to move up the leaderboard. However, I do like his current form and I do like how his game sets up here. His length off the tee won&#39;t hurt him this week and his opportunities should translate to plenty of birdies. If he can improve his putting this week then that is just about all he needs to easily post a Top 20 in Scottsdale. He has three Top 20 finishes here already in six attempts.

Keith Mitchell | Outright +12000 (1 Unit), Top 20 +260 (1 Unit)

Keith Mitchell is my dart play this week. He has been playing well this season with a Top 10 finish and a 12th place finish last weekend at Pebble Beach. He ranks 7th in Strokes Gained Off the Tee and he has plenty of distance to capitalize on Par 5s and shorten the longer Par 4s. He has good recent form, long off the tee, good off the tee, and he is going to have a little extra motivation this week since he is not currently not invited to Augusta for The Masters in a couple of months. He is going to need a few good finishes, maybe even a win, in order to make the trp up Magnolia Lane in April.&nbsp;

PGA Expert Picks: Waste Management Phoenix Open

Thanks to Luke List we have hit our first outright betting pick of the season and it was a beauty! Not only did this article have a one unit bet on an outright win at 70-1 but also had a one unit bet on a Top Ten finish at 6-1. That&#39;s a cool 76 unit return in one week of golf and just three weeks into the season! We just narrowly missed Russell Henley&#39;s oturight a couple of weeks ago so it feels good to get a big win last week with Luke List taking down Will Zalatoris in a playoff and claiming the victory after shooting a final round 66 and finishing -15 under par. Let&#39;s keep the streak going this week as the Tour wraps up the California swing at yet another iconic golf course, Pebble Beach.

Some golfers love it, some golfers hate it--same goes for the viewers when it comes to the Pebble Beach Pro Am. Some of the spetacles and antics by some of the amateur and celebrity golfers can wear thin as the week goes on. I think some golfers can only handle so much Bill Murray when they are trying to win an event. Nonetheless, this week should be exciting! This week&#39;s format will be another 54-hole cut with three alternating courses the first three days at Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill,&nbsp;and Monterey Peninsula. All three of these courses play relatively short and about 7,000 yards or less. Pebble Beach will have two rounds played by golfers that make the cut after 54 holes. These short courses will nullify driving distance for the most part and emphasize better iron players. This means that shorter hitters will have a legitmiate chance to win this week. Not only will the shorter hitters have a good chance at winning this week but so will the golfers with longer odds. Three of the previous winners: Ted Potter Jr, Vaughn Taylor, and Nick Taylor all had odds to win at 100-1 or longer. With that being said, three of the other most previous winners have all had odds at 25-1 or better: Jordan Spieth, Phil Mickelson, and Daniel Berger). So what does this tell us? Just about anyone on the odds board has a chance to win here at Pebble Beach where parts of their game other than driving distance take center stage. Pair that with the windy conditions can wreak havoc and you have the perfect storm for hitting a long winner. Let&#39;s take a look at a few options to bet this week and see if we can make it with outirght winners in back to back weeks!

Tringale is my &quot;shorter&quot; odds pick of the week. The historical stat that I shared above was that three of the past six winners have been priced at 25-1 or shorter (30-1 at some books). Tringale fits right into this recent Pebble Beach trend. Not to mention that he is coming off of a T-3 finish last week at the Farmers Insurance and has Top 7 finishes in three of his last five events. The shorter course stats are also going to be key this week and Tringale ranks 7th in the field in Total Strokes Gained on courses that play at 7,200 yards or less in the last three years. He also ranks 7th in Strokes Gained on Approach on courses that play at 7,200 yards or less in the last three years. He has the game to rack up birdies while also avoiding bogeys in the event that weather affects the playing conditions.&nbsp;

Matt Kuchar | Outright&nbsp;+6600 (1&nbsp;Unit), Top 20 +200 (1 Unit)

If Trinagle is my short odds guy this week then Kuchar is my mid-odds pick this week. I know that Kuchar is one of the older veterans in the field but he is still a great iron player from 100-150 yards. He is still a great putter on poa and his lack of length off the tee is not going to hurt him this week as he takes on these short courses. It may seem like a while back now, but he did have a T-7 finish at the Sony Open a few weeks ago and he has made his last six cuts dating back to September. His downfall at this course in recent years have been a few over par rounds after starting out strong the first couple of days of the tournament. Kuchar just seems like the guy that can win here, especially if weather conditions deteriorate, with his recent form and overall talent and ability.

Trying to follow historical precedent&nbsp;here and pick a triple digit odds pick. For the record, my pick triple digit pick for this week is Matthew NeSmith at 100-1 (he has back to back Top 20 finishes). But close to that triple digit number is Russell Knox. He had a T-7 at the Sony Open which was another course that fit some his strengths. He is also a good links player that can contend and neutralize windy conditions. He finished seventh here last year and also has two other Top 15 finishes and two other Top 30 finishes here as well. I am calling Knox finishing Top 20 this week as my lock of the week and I also like his potential to win outright this week.

PGA Expert Picks: AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

The Tour heads to the everfamiliar Torrey Pines golf course this week for the Farmers Insurance Open. Six of the Top Ten players in the world teeing it up including Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Hideki Matsuyama, Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele, and Bryson DeChambeau. Other familiar names including Brooks Koepka, Daniel Berger, Jordan Spieth, and Tony Finau will also make the trip to Torrey Pines making it a loaded field and the strongest that we have seen this season. Just a forewarning, the tournament starts on Wednesday this week rather than the normal Thursday start so be sure lock in your picks in time. Let&#39;s take a look at Torrey Pines.

Torrey Pines sports two courses that will be utilized this week--The North Course and the South Course. Golfers will alternate on both courses the first two days and then play the final two rounds on the South Course.&nbsp;The South Course plays as one of the longest courses on the PGA schedule and plays at more than 500 yards longer than the North Course. This will bring driving distance into play this week as well as the ability to gain strokes on approach from 175 yards and beyond. The South Course also has below average sized green that are difficult to hit. The golfers that I am targeting this week are ones that are long off the tee and have a strong approach, but I am also looking at short game and ability to recover after missing greens. The Top Ten golfers here in adjusted scoring are: Jon Rahm, Ryan Palmern, Tony Finau, Justin Rose, Patrick Reed, Marc Leishman, Adam Svensson, Keegan Bradley, Will Zalatoris (only two starts with a MC and T-7), and Jason Day. Jason Day has three missed cuts here but also has two wins, a second place finish, and fifth place finish, and a ninh place finish. It is also worth mentioning that Jon Rahm ranks first in adjusted scoring here and that does not include his US Open win last year at Torrey Pines.&nbsp;

Tony Finau | Outright&nbsp;+2500 (1&nbsp;Unit)

I am looking for value at +2000 in this loaded field. Tony Finau is going to be a popular pick this week with good reason. Finau has played well in the past on the Tour&#39;s California-swing and he fits well at Torrey Pines this week with his driving ability and ball-striking. He has finished T-6 or better in four of his last five starts here and ranks third in adjusted scoring at Torrey Pines. Not that this can be measued with any stat but I also like the fact that he has been playing recently and isn&#39;t making his season debut at this tournament like a few of the other big name golfers. He has been in decent form and has had a chance to shake off the rust from the off season. Sure, Finau does not win a lot of tournaments but you can almost guarantee him to be at the top of the leaderboard with a legitimate chance to win most weeks. I expect that to be the same story this week.

Francesco Molinari | Outright&nbsp;+8000 (1&nbsp;Unit), Top 10 +800&nbsp;(1&nbsp;Unit)

I am tailing some of the other Bet Karma PGA gurus here with the Molinari pick. He has a Top 10 finish here last year and is coming off a sixth place finish last week at the American Express. If you feel like you haven&#39;t heard much from him since the Master&#39;s a few years ago then you aren&#39;t alone. I have had some action on him in other tournaments since then that have resulted in disappointing finishes but I am going back to the well this week. These odds are a little too good to pass up on considering his overall pedigree and his success in California tournaments. He has two Top 25s in addition to his Top 10 last year as well as a T-13 finish at the US Open last year on this same course.

Wyndham Clark | Top 20 +500 (1&nbsp;Unit)

My logic here is pretty simple: Clark is a long hitter and a great putter. He is in good form making the cut in six of his last seven starts and has finished in the Top 35 in both of his made cuts at the Farmers. Finishing in the Top 20 is not that farfetched for a guy with this a talent. I also expect him to have some extra motivation this week as a young gofler trying to make a big splash in this loaded field and establish himself as one of the best younger golfers on Tour.

Luke List | Outright +7000 (1&nbsp;Unit), Top 10 +600 (1 Unit)

Luke List is one of the longest hitters on Tour. If his putter would cooperate with him then he would be a much more well-known name. His putter has been his downfall including at the WGC Dell Match Play in 2018 when he slammed his putter into a brick wall bending it and having to use his wedge to putt the rest of the round (he went on to birdie three of his next four holes using a wedge to putt). He is a good fit for Torrey Pines and has made the cut in all four of his starts here including two Top 15 finishes. He is also leading the Tour this season in Strokes Gained T2G and has made the cut in six of his eight starts this year with four Top 20s. If he is driving the ball and the putter heats up, then there is no reason he can&#39;t find himself in the Top 10 this week with a chance to win at 70-1 odds. Take the chance on him this week at Torrey Pines.

PGA Expert Picks: Farmers Insurance Open

The Tour makes the trek across the Hawaiian Island from Kapalua to Waialae Country Club in Honolulu. Last week Cameron Smith and Jon Rahm went down to the wire before Smith birdied the 18th hole to claim a one-stroke victory over Rahm at -34. You have to feel a little bit for Rahm&nbsp;where he shot -33 including tying the course with a 61 and then still come in second place. It was an absolute birdiefest at the TOC last week which will not quite be the story this week at the Sony Open.

Waialae is a much different course despite similar terrain and geographical proximity to Kapalua. Kapalua was very much a bomber&#39;s course with wide airways and less penal rough. This week will be a much tighter track adn will play as a Par 70 rather than 73 last week. This course sets up as a second shot course as golfers take aim at these Bermuda greens. I cannot take credit for this stat from Action Network but it did come up in my research and will be an interesting angle for this week.&nbsp;&quot;Over the past five years, 117 players have made the trip from Kapalua to Waialae. Of those 117, 86 have made the cut (74 percent); 48 have finished top-25 (41 percent); and 22 have finished top-10 (19 percent).&quot; It does look like there is at least some statistically significant event that almost a fifth of the golfers in this group posted&nbsp; Top 10 finish at Sony. This week I will be looking at accurate drivers that will be in the fairway and that have strong ball-striking and approach games. Putting will also be important this week. It will be interesting to see what type of startegy that guys like Bryson take this week. Will he try to bomb and gouge this course or will his driving distance be neutralized this week due to the natural track of this course? If you look at past winners here, I am leaning heaviliy towards the more accurate golfers off the tee and elite ball strikers. Let&#39;s take a look at the picks for this week.

Corey Conners | Outright&nbsp;+2500 (1&nbsp;Unit)

If there is one part of Conners&#39; game that plagues his chances at winning each week it is his putting. Conners is great off the tee, has an elite ball striking and approach game, but will squander multiple scoring opportunities. If there is a saving grace for Conners this week it is that he has gained over 13 strokes putting in his three appearances here at the Sony Open. Pair that with the fact that he ranks third in ball striking over the last 100 rounds and Conners is easily setup for success this week. I am not concerned with his accuracy off the tee or ability to hit greens with close proximity so Conners will be in contention on Sunday as long as his putter is rolling.

Marc Leishman | Outright&nbsp;+2000 (1&nbsp;Unit), Top 10 +190 (2 Units)

If I am looking at performance from last week and uilizing the stat in the preface of this article then I am targeting Leishman for an outright as well as a Top 10 finish. Recent performance: T-10 at the TOC--check. Course history: 12 for 12 cuts, four Top 10s, seven Top 25s--check. Leishman&#39;s overall game is a great fit for this course. He finished T-10 last week at a course that doesn&#39;t necessarily fit his strengths so I like where his game is at coming to a course that should setup nicely for him. He is my statistical pick for a Top 10 this week as well.&nbsp;

Russell Henley| Top 20 +110 (2 Units)

I know that the odds aren&#39;t as appetizing as some others on the board but this is my lock of the week with Henley finishing Top 20. Henley is a shorter hitter which shouldn&#39;t negatively impact him this week. He has a strong iron game and his putter can get hot. He has a strong course history here with three Top 20s including T-11 last year. He hasn&#39;t missed a cut in his last eight starts and should be looking to start off the new season with a strong start. I may even lay some action on Henley as an outright as the week goes on. He is currenty at 22-1 on DraftKings but that number could get longer as the week goes on with other big names around him at similar odds.

The Tour starts this week at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii. This is a unique and small field as it features the winners of each tournament from last season. Kapalua Plantation Course is the host course and is a rare Par 73 that these golfers will be scoring on all week--the winning score will likely be between -20 and -30. Kapalua is a fairly open course and shorter course that will leave golfers with shorter approach shots and plenty of chances to score. The greens are not difficult to hit so GIR should be rather irrelevant this week while SG Approach and Proximity should be key stats to look at this week. Let&#39;s take a look at a few of the best bets for this week. Please note that I will be identifying a few outirght bets with the smaller field so Top 10s and 20s will not be as much of a focus this week.

Xander won this tournament back in 2019 and had a 2nd place finish in 2020 and a T-5 finish in 2021. Xander thrives in smaller field events setting him up for success this week. Kapalua has some wide open fairways where he will be able to let the driver loose and gain some extra distance allowing him to display his superior iron play and take dead aim at the pins. I like his odds in this smaller field as he will have similar odds later in the year in much bigger fields and bigger tournaments, Go ahead and take advantage of this number this week.&nbsp;

Jordan Spieth | Outright&nbsp;+2000 (1&nbsp;Unit)

Spieth finally showed life last year and vaulted back up the world golf rankings and ended his winless drought at the Valero Texas Open. The wide fairways should also benefit Spieth as he is not the most accurate driver off of the tee. Spieth is still one of the best iron players in the world, and anyone who tries to tell you differently is suffering from recency bias or just isn&#39;t a fan because his approach game is elite and his putting has come back around. A few years ago you went from automatically assuming&nbsp;Spieth would make anything inside of 10 feet to hoping he wouldn&#39;t three putt from 8 feet. His irons are back. His putter is back. I think Spieth is ready to show everyone that his all-around game is back and he will want to make a statement and get off to a fast start this year.

Billy Horschel | Outright&nbsp;+7000 (1&nbsp;Unit)

Looking down the list of golfers I wanted to find someone with longer odds that appears to be a good course fit. I landed on Horschel here at 70-1 odds. His win equity and chances to win are much higher than some of the golfers priced with shorter odds. He did win the Dell Match Play and the BMW PGA Championship last year and absolutely loves putting on Bermuda greens. His putting ability on Bermuda paired with his iron play from short distances should have him competing late on Sunday afternoon. 70-1 odds for a guy like Horschel in this small of a field seems like a steal. Bet him with confidence and for a large potential payout.

PGA Expert Picks: Sentry Tournament of Champions

The Tour is headed for the BMW Championship this week after an exciting Monday finish that saw Cam Smith and Tony Finau take the tournament to a playoff. Finau won fairly easily in the playoff after Cam sliced his first drive out of bounds and hit his second drive into the bunker and was left scrambling to set himself up for a double bogey. Congrats to Tony on winning his first tournament since 2016! Time to turn our attention to Caves Valley Golf Club.

&nbsp;

Caves Valley Golf Club is a Par 72 that has been lengthened over the years and is playing over 7,500 yards. This is a Tom Fazio designed course with Bentgrass tee and fairways and Bermuda greens. There are also plenty of sand and bunkers defending the course. Fazio has also redesigned Quail Hollow so I will be looking at how golfers have finished there recently as part of my picks. These architects tend to carry over designs and challenges from course-to-course, and Fazio is no different. These bunkers are strategically placed throughout the course where some longer approach shots will likely lead to golfers having to scramble and make saves from the sand. Par 4 scoring will also be important this week as will a strong tee-to-green game. &nbsp;The fairways have been narrowed as part of the redesign so staying out of the fescue will be crucial especially if the course does receive rain over the weekend and the thick fescue plays even thicker with few coats of rain soaking the course. Long hitters will have a slight advantage this week as they will be able to carry some of the longer bunkers and take dead aim at the flag, but I do not expect it to be as big of an advantage as others may assume

Kevin Kisner and Chris Kirk won the 2005 NCAA Championship at Caves Valley so there is going to familiarity for them and for many other golfers despite Caves Valley not being a regular Tour destination. Should be another exciting week as the golfers make a push for the Top 30 and a chance to play at the Tour Championship next week.

I feel like Rory at this price is a gift. I have not placed a lot of outrights on Rory but he usually turns it up for the FedEx Cup Playoffs despite is T-43 finish last week. He also sits just inside the Top 30 so he has a little extra to play for this week to make it to the Tour Championship. He ranks ninth overall in my model and is inside the Top 10 in SG T2G, SG Par 4, and SG Ball Striking. He also loves Quail Hollow, another Fazio design, where he won earlier this year. This seems like a great time to put a wager down on Rory.

Conners is one of the best ball strikers on Tour and ranks third in my model this week. He ranks inside the Top 10 in four of the five stats that I am targeting this week. He had a quiet T-8 finish last week and I like the way that this course sets up for him. He hits fairways, has a great approach game, and if his putter can improve just a little bit then he will poised for a great finish this week.

Casey has seven Top 10 finishes this year and I am expecting him to make it number eight this week. Casey ranks eleventh in my model and ranks fourth and sixth in strokes gained on the field in Approach and T2G, respectively. Before the Northern Trust he had a T-5 at the WGC St. Jude and a T-15 at the Open. This course is going to setup as a ball strikers course and that is what Casey is known for as he ranks twelfth in the field in SG Ball Striking. Look for the Englishman to make a push into Sunday and post his eighth Top 10 of the season.

PGA Expert Picks: BMW Championship

We narrowly missed a Russell Henley outright win last week as he finished one shot off the lead after missing a couple of extremely short par saves that proved to be costly. The Wyndham marked the end of the regular season so we are back at it this week for the first week of the FedEx Cup Playoffs!

&nbsp;

The top 125 golfers in FedEx Cup points tee it up this week with downtown New York in the backdrop at the Northern Trust at Liberty National Golf Course in Jersey City, New Jersey. Next week the top 70 in FedEx Cup points will participate in the BMW Championship so finishing positions and accumulating as many points this week will be crucial. Look for golfers to be aggressive and trying to solidify their current position to qualify for next week.

&nbsp;

Liberty National Golf Course is a Par 71 playing over 7,400 yards. Seven of the eleven Par 4s will play over 450 yards so scoring on these longer Par 4s will be important as well as proximity to the hole on approach shots that will come from 200+ yards on many of these holes. Approach and proximity will be important as Liberty National sports smaller than average greens. Depending on the weather, wind can come into play as the course is exposed to the Hudson and can lead some shots astray into the water hazards that surround the course. The Par 5s are not difficult and historically have been the easiest holes on the course. Gaining 3-4 strokes on these each day will be critical to offset any higher scores on the difficult Par 4s. The signature hole this week will be the Par 3 15th hole that has New York City in the background. The 15th hole will also play around 150 yards which means these golfers will be attacking this hole straight on with nothing more than a pitching wedge so expect to see some exciting shots with a great view here.

Just like in major championships, these FedEx Cup Playoff events are going to bring out the best in the best golfers. In recent history, except for Brooks Koepka, no one has done this better than Collin Morikawa. He already has two major championships to his name including The Open win last month. He also had a T-4 at the US Open in June, a second place finish at Memorial the week before, a T-8 at the PGA Championship, and then back-to-back Top 20s at the Masters and RBC following his win at the WGC Workday at Concession. He has nine Top 10 finishes in the 2021 calendar year leading into the playoffs this week. This is my first time writing on English this year and it is long overdue. He has three Top 5 finishes in his last four starts and is one of the hottest golfers right now. The fourth place finish at the WGC St. Jude was almost a victory for him before falling apart on the back nine, which could potentially be attributed to being put on the clock for much of the round being paired with Bryson. Nevertheless, English ranks seventh in my model this week and ranks inside the Top 30 on every statistical category that I am targeting this week. Take those stats with his form right now and there is no reason he can&rsquo;t post a Top 10 finish here this week.

Hatton was not the first guy that came to my mind when I was preparing for this week but his stats are outstanding as far as a course fit for Liberty National this week. I ran two models and he ranked first in one and second in the other. He had a T-17 at WGC St. Jude and has finished inside the Top 25 in two of the last three iterations of the Northern Trust. I do wish that his form was a little better recently and that he could win in the States, but at these odds I am willing to take a risk on a guy that, at least on paper, looks to be a great course fit.

PGA Expert Picks: The Northern Trust

This week&rsquo;s tournament at the Wyndham Championship marks the regular season finale before the FedEx Cup Playoffs begin next week. This tournament is notorious for sporting a relatively week field, however, there are some big names playing this week and plenty of storylines as players try to garner as many FedEx Cup points as possible in order to qualify for the Northern Trust next week. The top 125 golfers will play next week. A few big names are currently on the outside looking in including: Rickie Fowler, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, and Francesco Molinari. Other big names are just barely inside the top 125 including Matt Kuchar and Adam Scott. You will see plenty of graphics this week showing live FedEx Cup rankings as golfers complete each hole and how they shift up and down the leaderboard. It is always an exciting narrative to watch and track over the weekend and late into Sunday.

&nbsp;

When you think of the Wyndham Championship, you think of Webb Simpson. He has eight Top 10 finishes including a win in 2011, runner up finishes 2018 and 2019, and third place finishes in 2017 and 2020. It&rsquo;s too bad we can&rsquo;t bet on the over/under of how many times the commentators will mention the fact that Webb named his daughter Wyndham after his win in 2011 (I&rsquo;d take the over). Another golfer and storyline to look at will be the red hot Louis Oosthuizen. He reportedly skipped the Olympics in order to prepare for the FedEx Cup and a run at the $15 million prize. He has never played here at Sedgefield but it shouldn&rsquo;t matter too much considering the lower difficulty of the course and the his caliber as a golfer. &nbsp;

&nbsp;

Sedgefield is a Donald Ross design and has played host to the Wyndham Championship since 2008. Weather should not play a factor this week as it looks like prime golf weather this week. I would expect the winning score to mirror previous winning scores of at least 21 under par. The front nine will yield plenty of birdies this week and should get golfers off to some quick starts as most holes havea&nbsp; scoring average of under par. The back nine may play a bit more difficult but birdies will be plentiful all week long regardless of the hole. Scoring on Par 4s will be crucial on this Par 70 course but, despite only two Par 5s, scoring and taking advantage of the Par 5s will also be important. You will see plenty of birdies and even quite a few eagles on these easy Par 5s. Not converting on the Par 5s means leaving a potential 2-4 strokes on the table each round which would not bode well for success when the winner will finish at 20 under or better.

Henley has been logging some great finishes recently other than a missed cut at The Open. He had a T-11 at the John Deere, T-19 at the Travelers, and a T-13 at the US Open. Henley also had a T-9 at the Wyndham last year and I expect him to build on that this year and post a great finish this week. I like Henley&rsquo;s ability to hit fairways which will lead to easier approach shots. SG Approach is a key stat this week (like most weeks) as well as Proximity from 150-175. Henley ranks seventh and second in the field in both of these categories, respectively. He ranks 15th in my model overall&mdash;I like Henley to win this week.

Ryan Armour ranks fourth in my model this week including ranking fifth in SG Par from 400-450 and Top 30 in every other key stat this week. He has also finished T-6 and T-5 in his last two starts at the 3M and Barbasol. Armour also has two Top 10 finishes here in 2017 and 2018 as well as two other Top 25 finishes in 2019 and 2020. He has the course history, recent performance, and key stats all going for him this week.

The PGA Tour is back after a one week hiatus as many golfers made the trip to Japan for the Olympics. Congratulations to Xander Schauffele on winning Gold for the United States&mdash;if you haven&rsquo;t read about Schauffele&rsquo;s family and the Olympics then I would highly recommend it, it&rsquo;s a great story.

&nbsp;

This week we have the WGC FedEx St. Jude Invitational at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee. Justin Thomas will look to defend his title as the season starts winding down into the FedEx Cup Playoffs that begin in a couple of weeks. It is important to note that the Tour has played at TPC Southwind since the last 80&rsquo;s but was only recently upgraded to a WGC event the last two seasons. So the course the golfers will play this weekend will be fairly more difficult than in the pre-WGC tournaments. I mention this because course history will be important this week. Many of the golfers that prevail here have also played well here in the past. I will be taking into account pre-WGC events but will also emphasize past results from the last two seasons. TPC Southwind is a Par 70 course that has hazards and danger on just about every hole. This includes about a hundred bunkers and eleven water hazards that come into play on eleven of the holes. These eleven water hazards account for the most aqueous balls on Tour. This is why ball-striking and bogey avoidance will both be crucial this week. Despite the relateively low scores that have been posted here the last couple of years, eight of the nine holes on the back average over par. This could make Sunday very interesting down the homestretch if we have a packed leaderboard.

&nbsp;

Wind and weather has been one of the defenders of the course but it does not look like it will have a factor at all this week. There is a chance that the wind picks up some on Sunday afternoon but, even then, it will be mild and should be easily navigated. Double bogey and worse will be a definite reality on some of these longer Par 4s with water hazards in play so a main focus this week will be on golfers that can set themselves up for birdie opportunities while also limiting damage on some of these more difficult holes.

Daniel Berger | Outright +2000 (1 Unit)

Two-time winner of this event, coming off a T-8 at The Open, a winner on Tour already this year, and ranks sixth in my model&mdash;hello, Daniel Berger. Berger has been putting together a solid season and I can see him really trying to amp his game and position ahead of the Fedex Cup Playoffs in a couple of weeks. He has three Top 10 finishes in his last six starts that includes a T-3 at the Byron Nelson and then a T-7 and T-8 in the last two majors at the US Open and The Open, respectively. He ranks sixth in my model this week and is fourth in the field in SG Approach and Bogey Avoidance. He is also sixth in GIR which means he should have plenty of scoring opportunities and be in competition late on Sunday.

Jason Kokrak | Top 10 +400 (1 Unit)

The fact that Kokrak has two Tour victories in the last calendar year as well as five other Top 15 finishes, the overall odds seem a little disrespectful for Kokrak this week. He ranks fourth in the field in opportunities gained, tenth in SG Approach, and sixth in SG Ball-Striking. He ranks 14th in my model this week and is coming off a T-12 and a win in two of his last four starts. Full steam ahead for Kokrak before the FedEx Cup Playoffs. I may also check his odds Wednesday night for an outright, right now he is around 60-1 at most books.

Kevin Kisner | Top 20 +275 (2 Units)

I do wish Kisner ranked out a little better than he does in my current model. However, the other factors that I look at each week are current form as well as tournament history, especially this week. Kisner did post back-to-back Top 10s at the Rocket Mortgage and Travelers. He made the cut at The Open with a less than stellar 73rd finish. However, he has made the cut at this event the last five years with four T-28 or better finishes. Kisner barely ranks inside the Top 70 of the FedEx Cup rankings so I expect for him to have a little extra motivation to solidify his position before the Northern Trust.

PGA Expert Picks: WGC FedEx St. Jude Invitational

We have made it to the final major of the season at Royal St. George&rsquo;s in Kent, England. Royal St. George&rsquo;s is hosting The Open for the first time since 2011 when Darren Clarke beat Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson to capture his first major championship. This was also the site of The Open in 2003 when Ben Curtis triumphed over Thomas Bjorn and Vijay Singh to claim his first and only major championship. The course has gone through several renovations since 2011.

&nbsp;

The course will be sporting treacherous bunkers that will require golfers to scramble and save par from around the green and will put an emphasis on short game. Gary Player was recently quoted saying that St. George&rsquo;s was the &ldquo;easiest of The Open courses&rdquo; but don&rsquo;t tell Thomas Bjorn that. Thomas Bjorn famously found the bunker on Hole 16 in 2003 when he had attempted three shots before escaping the bunker and settling for double bogey. He never recovered and finished second for the week. If you&rsquo;ve seen the aerial photos of St. George&rsquo;s then you&rsquo;ll notice the obvious undulation in the fairways and greens. Some of these fairways are going to be near impossible to hit as even hitting the middle of the fairway could send the ball careening into the rough. Just as Tiger Woods in 2003 when he hit his opening tee shot into the rough and was never able to find the ball. He opened with a triple-bogey. The rough is going to penalize golfers this week, so while longer drives may be beneficial for proximity, distance won&rsquo;t matter if the ball is deep in the rough which is why I am prioritizing accuracy over distance this week.

&nbsp;

You will hear about the wind all week with the links course which is a legitimate concern. The Open is known for difficult wind conditions and it shouldn&rsquo;t be any different this week. I will also be looking at past history at The Open. I have read and seen the correlations about how winners of this tournament have finished in past years and leading up to the tournament. Six out of the past nine winners played at the Irish or Scottish Open the week prior and 13 of the past 14 winners have finished in the Top 10 in an Open Championship before their victory.

Spieth ranks number one in my model this week. He didn&rsquo;t play in the Irish or Scottish Open last week but that&rsquo;s not swaying me from betting him. He is a past Open Champion, and has two other Top 10s in his past five Open Championships. He has eight Top 10 finishes and three other Top 20s this year including a win at Valero back in April. He ranks 10th in SG Approach, 4th in SG Short Game, and 1st in Par 4s Gained. Jordan Spieth is back and no reason not to back him this week.

I have to pick at least one Englishman to back this week and I&rsquo;m going with Hatton. He finished T-18 at the Scottish Open last week and had a T-2 finish at the Palmetto before missing the cut at the US Open. Hatton does have two Top 10 finishes in the last five Open Championships. He ranks 20th in my model&mdash;his SG Short Game is holding his statistical rank back a little bit. He ranks inside the Top 25 in all other key stats. He is also playing in his home country so you know he will have the extra motivation to claim his first major title in England.

I love Alex Noren this week to post yet another great finish at The Open. He is a bit under the radar as far as his experience here but he has finished inside the Top 20 the last three years and has a T-13 and T-4 finish in his last four starts. His ball-striking is elite and ranks 10th in the field in SG Ball-Striking which will come into play this week at St. George&rsquo;s. He also ranks inside the Top 30 in SG OTT so he will be hitting fairways, avoiding the rough, and setting himself up for plenty of scoring opportunities.

PGA Expert Picks: The Open

Another week, another playoff. But this time, BetKarma was all over the winner as Sam had Cam Davis as his longshot outright winner at 150-1 odds! I also posted a two-unit bet in the BetKarma Premium Discord prior to the tournament on Jason Kokrak to finish 28th or better which also cashed out nicely for our premium users. We are looking to go back-to-back and have another profitable week as the Tour heads to Illinois for the John Deere Classic.

&nbsp;

The course this week is TPC Deere Run and the tournament is the John Deere Classic which is notorious for sporting one of the weakest fields of the Tour season. Personally, my bank roll will be cut back a little this week but this is still a fun tournament where you can hit a few longshot placement bets. The course is not going to be overly demanding and birdie opportunities will be plentiful. Deere Run requires you to stick approach shots close after hitting the wide-open fairways. This will negate the requirement for having distance off the tee. Since it is a relatively short course, many of the approach shots will be hit from inside 150 yards were these pros will be spinning the ball to inside ten feet. The winning score could easily exceed -20 under par. In 2018, Michael Kim won by shooting 27 under par. Since 2014, the highest winning score was -18 by Bryson DeChambeau in 2017. Ability to score on Par 4s with the Par 71 setup is crucial this week and will be weighed heavily in my picks. &nbsp;

Kizzire was a guy I was thinking of leading into this tournament and my statistical model backs up the premonition. He ranks third in my model and this just seems like the kind of tournament that a guy like Kizzire could win. I do wish his recent form was a little better coming in but he did post a T-25 last week after missing three straight cuts so he may be getting back on track. He also had a third place finish at the Charles Schwab challenge a few weeks ago in a similar strength field&mdash;this tournament will actually be a much weaker field that he can take advantage of.

You may have noticed that Kodaira is my favorite Top 20 pick as well as my favorite long shot bet. This course sets up way too well for him to be at these kind of odds. I will be placing two units on him to finish inside the top 20 and may also be laying a Top 10 or Top 5 bet as well. This course sets up well for him and he has been playing well lately with a T-19 to his name at the Palmetto Championship a few weeks ago. While a few of the key stats could be better, he does rank inside the Top 17 in the field in proximity and strokes gained putting&mdash;I love those stats for this week.

PGA Expert Picks: John Deere Classic

Congrats to Harris English winning the Travelers last weekend after an exciting eight hole playoff with Kramer Hickock! Playoffs are always fun to watch and even more exciting when it takes multiple holes and guys grinding out difficult shots to keep their winning hopes alive. Hickock will be a tour winner in the next year or so&mdash;very talented and has been improving his play.

&nbsp;

This week we get a Donald Ross designed golf course this week at the Detroit Golf Club. The Tour has been playing at Pete Dye courses recently so it is a welcomed change. Ross has also designed other courses such as Seminole Golf Club in Florida, Oakland Hills in Michigan, Pinehurst (No. 2) in North Carolina, and Essex County Club in Massachussetts among many others. He is also the designer of this week&rsquo;s host course, Detroit Golf Club. This course is definitely scoreable as DeChambeau showed us last year. The modern day golfer can make this course play much shorter with the ability to drive the ball long distances. Driving accuracy is not as important this week as the fairways are wider than the Tour average so many shots should be from the short grass. The approach shots will be incoming to larger than Tour average greens as well so GIR is not as important this week. However, because of that, opportunities or birdie or better percentage will be critical and will be heavily factored into my selections and bets this week. If you can&rsquo;t make a ton of birdies (and a couple of eagles) then you don&rsquo;t have a chance of posting a good finish here. The course is relatively unchanged so I will also be looking at tournament and course history as well.

I am looking for guys that can drive the ball, stick it close on approach, and that can score. Kokrak has all of that going and then some. He ranks first in my model this week but he was a guy I was already considering before I ran the numbers. He ranks first in SG Par 5 and BoB Gained. He also ranks inside the Top Ten in SG Approach, SG OTT, and Opportunities Gained. He won just a few weeks ago and I like the way that this course sets up for him. 25-1 odds seem like a steal for a guy of his caliber given the strength of the field. He is going to score on the Par 5s this week which will be critical. He is long OTT and will be able to give himself legitimate eagle opportunities inside of twenty feet on these large greens.

Gary Woodland | Top 10 +450 (1 Unit)

Woodland&rsquo;s performance as of late does not necessarily instill the greatest of confidence in him this week but the numbers and stats do. Gary ranks sixth in my model and is another guy that comes to mind when talking about driving distance and where driving accuracy is not as crucial. He will really be able to let it fly OTT and will have plenty of shots from the fairway where he is an elite ball-striker. I expect his game to start improving and tuning up before The Open that is quickly upcoming and this is the perfect event to do that. He has the distance and approach game to set himself up for numerous birdie and eagle attempts this week.

PGA Expert Picks: Rocket Mortgage Classic

We had an exciting finish to the US Open last week as Jon Rahm is now a major winner on the PGA Tour! Oosty added to his second place finishes at majors as he hit a few errant shots on his last few holes that eventually led to Rahm claiming victory at Torrey Pines. I&rsquo;m happy for Rahm&mdash;a few weeks removed from having the Memorial Tournament victory essentially &ldquo;stolen&rdquo; from him, celebrating his first Father&rsquo;s Day as a new father, and winning his first major at the same course where he proposed to his wife. I don&rsquo;t think Hollywood could have drawn that up any better.

&nbsp;

This week we get the Travelers Championship and not too bad of a field considering it&rsquo;s following the US Open. The tour is at TPC River Highlands this week in Cromwell, Connecticut. This is a Pete Dye track which I will be taking into account this week when looking at correlating courses and past success. This will look like an absolute birdie fest after what we witnessed last week and with good reason&mdash;this is a shorter track where the average winning score is -15 under par. There is not a true course fit target when you consider the past five winners that all have different strengths and weaknesses: DJ, Reavie, Bubba, Spieth, and Russell Knox. This course isn&rsquo;t going to favor bombers&mdash;it may be more a shot shapers course and being able to string together strong approaches. The 15th hole will create a lot of excitement as it is a 295 yard driveable Par 4. Nothing is more exciting than seeing Tour players try to stick it close for legitimate eagle opportunities.

We have a unanimous outright pick with Ancer this week at BetKarma. Ancer ranks first in my model and has some great course history here as well. He has finished T-11 and T-8 here the last two years and also finished T-14 and T-8 in two of his last three events. He is coming off a missed cut last week at the US Open but it&rsquo;s a major, it was difficult, so I&rsquo;m not going to let that keep me from backing Ancer this week.

Charley Hoffman | Top 10 +400 (1 Unit)

Hoffman is not just the guy you bet as the first round leader at the Masters anymore&mdash;he is actually having a pretty good season and has had success at this tournament in the past. He does sport a T-15, T-3, and T-25 in three of his last five starts here and was also playing well last week and made the cut before falling apart in his final round. He has a T-3 and T-17 finish at the Charles Schwab and PGA Championship recently and also ranks third in my model this week. He is killing it in SG Approach and BS and I expect both of those to be critical for success this week.

PGA Expert Picks: Travelers Championship

The third major of the year is upon us this week for the US Open at Torrey Pines! This week has no shortage of storylines: Rahm returning after being forced to withdraw from the Memorial with a six-shot lead, DeChambeau defending his title, Xander Schauffele (among others) that are playing in their hometown, and Phil Mickelson looking for the career grand slam.

&nbsp;

We get a familiar course this week at the South Course at Torrey Pines. If you remember, we saw many of these golfers compete here earlier this year at the Farmers Insurance Open. Obviously, the course will play more difficult this week in true US Open fashion, but I am still going to look at how many of these golfers performed here just a mere six months ago and take that into account with my picks this week. The course was a Par 72 in January but is now a Par 71 as the sixth hole will now be the longest Par 4 rather than a Par 5. I am factoring in Par 4 scoring from 450-500 as the Par 4s as eight of the eleven Par 4s measure around 450-500 yards. Water will not be in play this week but the course is defended by more than 80 bunkers. Longer hitters may have an advantage this week with the longer holes as their approach shots should be exponentially closer in proximity than those having to score on Par 4s with approaches from more than 180 yards on many of the Par 4s. Being able to save par and avoid bogeys on these holes will be key this week as well. With that in mind, let&rsquo;s take a look at the picks for this week at the US Open!

It is only a matter of time before Schauffele is hoisting the trophy on a Sunday afternoon at a major. He has performed well at just about every major including the US Open as he has finished Solo 5, T-3, T-6, and T-5 in the last four US Opens. He also finished T-2 at Torrey Pines earlier this year at the Farmers Insurance that snapped a streak of less-than-stellar performance at Torrey Pines. He is a San Diego Native and ranks in the Top 15 of my model this week. He has all the tools to win a US Open and I think this week he finally comes out on top at a major.

Louis Oosthuizen | Top 10 +300 (1 Unit)

He doesn&rsquo;t win on the Tour, but when he does, it&rsquo;s a major. Pretty crazy to think that a guy that has been a regular staple on the Tour for more than the last decade, Louis only has one PGA Tour win which was The Open back in 2010. He hasn&rsquo;t finished worse than T-23 in the past five years at the US Open and has finished in the Top 10 the last two years with a solo 3rd place finish and a T-7. He finished T-29 at the Farmers earlier this year but I expect him to be competitive over the weekend. He is the first guy I think of that could easily be hanging around T-30 through the middle of the day Saturday before stringing together a strong Sunday and vaulting up the leaderboard. As far as statistics, he ranks 26th in my model but does rank first in my model in Par 4 scoring from 450-500 that I think will be huge this week.

Jason Kokrak | Outright +6600 (1 Unit)

Kokrak&rsquo;s odds are longer than 50-1 so I consider him to be a &ldquo;longshot&rdquo; this week but he could easily be competitive and in the mix come Sunday. His confidence is at an all-time high as he is coming off a victory at Colonial just a few weeks ago. He finished T-17 at the US Open last year and was T-29 at the Farmers at Torrey back in January. He also ranks tenth in my model that I am very confident in this week so I love the 66-1 odds for Kokrak this week. He can bomb the ball and gain stroke OTT with the best of them. I would like to see his Par 4 scoring be a little higher relative to the field, but I will take 7th place ranking in bogey avoidance. He has a more than legitimate chance at winning as long as his approach game is on.

 The third major of the year is upon us this week for the US Open at Torrey Pines! This week has no shortage of storylines: Rahm returning after being forced to withdraw from the Memorial with a six-shot lead, DeChambeau defending his title, Xander S

PGA Expert Picks: U.S. Open

Well, I narrowly missed on my Collin Morikawa two-unit outright bet last week as he fell in a playoff with Patrick Cantlay. However, truth be told, had Jon Rahm not been forced to withdraw with a six stroke lead after testing positive for COVID-19 then this tournament would not have even been close. A couple of sportsbooks even paid out on Jon Rahm as the winner due to the huge lead and bizarre circumstances surrounding his forced withdrawal. That dominant performance will resonate with me as we move closer to the US Open. Alas, time to set our sights on this less-than-stellar tournament this week before the US Open next week.

&nbsp;

The Palmetto Championship is a byproduct of COVID-19 as it takes place of the Canadian Open that was originally scheduled for this week. The Tom Fazio designed Congaree Golf Club is the site of the Palmetto Championship this week. Built on a former rice plantation, Congaree is a Par 71 course that will be playing hard and fast this week and should be a good test and tune-up before the US Open. The course is littered with substantial sand waste areas where good drives will be a necessity as well has hitting the hard greens where being able to stick approach shots will also be key. The fairways are not difficult to hit but missing them will prove to be costly as the rough has been replaced by the aforementioned sandy waste areas. Even if a golfer does hit the fairway, there are many uneven lies reminiscent of Pinehurst. The field has a few big names like Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka, but the overall field is very weak which means there is plenty of value to be found in some lesser-known names.

This seems like an ideal spot for Varner to finally capture a PGA Tour win. As I mentioned before, many of the top guys here may be working more on tuning their game up for the US Open next week more than they will be focused on actually winning. He is a North Carolina native and should play well in neighboring South Carolina. We saw him play well here a couple months ago at the RBC Heritage where he has a T-2 finish behind Stewart Cink. Varner also ranks fifth in my model this week which further solidifies my betting position on him this week.

Brandt Snedeker | Top 10 +500 (1 Unit)

It has been a while since we have heard anything from Snedeker. He seems to always play well in the south and I like him at this price. He isn&rsquo;t exactly popping in my model this week but this is a new course where conditions could be even more difficult than expected. Snedeker is a guy that can hit fairways, stick approaches, and can putt with the best on tour. He has a T-17 and T-11 at the Byron and Valspar, respectively, and could be setup nicely for a Top 10 this week.

PGA Expert Picks: The Palmetto Championship

We head to Muirfield Village this week in what should be another great tournament with many of the top players in the world competing at &ldquo;Jack&rsquo;s Place.&rdquo; If you recall, this course started undergoing a major renovation literally as the final round was still being played. Rahm was battling on the back nine as the camera televised renovation crews starting to tear up and removing all of the turf from the fairways on the front nine. It will be interesting to see what the new changes look like during the tournament this week.

&nbsp;

Muirfield Village is a Par 72 playing about 7,543 yards. There are ten Par 4s, four Par 3s, and four Par 5s. The average green size is slightly under 5,000 square feet making them smaller than the average tour course. The bentgrass greens will also be very quick. The course will play about 100-175 yards longer with the new redesign. The biggest change that you will notice is on Hole 15. The hole was made 37 yards longer and now brings a creek to left more into play. There are also bunkers lining the right side of the fairway and the landing area of the green has been lowered fifteen feet. Eagles and birdies are out there to be had on all Par 5s, especially the fifth hole that plays as the easiest of the Par 5s. We may not yet know where all the perils of the course lie with the new design until we see how the golfers attack the first couple of days.

&nbsp;

Despite two of the last champions being bombers (Rahm and DeChambeau), length off-of-the tee is not a requirement in order to compete. This is evident in past champion profiles such as Matt Kuchar, David Lingmerth, and Jason Dufner. Take Kuchar for example&mdash;he hits fairways, strikes the ball, hits greens, and repeats. Besides hitting greens with close proximity, golfers will have to score on Par 5s. All Par 5s are birdie-able and leaving strokes on the table will be the demise of anyone trying to make the cut. I am focusing on guys that can hit fairways to set themselves up with clean lies on approach, as well as ball-strikers that putt and score.

I know that I&rsquo;m not breaking news here picking Morikawa. The odds aren&rsquo;t spectacular but the last time I had a feeling (and the stats backed it up) about a guy with similar odds was JT at The Players with a two unit bet and we hit it. He won here last year at the Workday Charity Tournament and he ranks number one in my model this week by a long shot. Ranks first in SG BS, SG Approach, and Par 4 scoring 450-500. He also ranks second in Proximity. His worst finish in his last three starts was last week with a T-14 at Colonial. He has five Top 10 finishes so far in 2021 as well as a win at The Concession. He performs well in these strong fields and I will be backing him here.

I love Louis for a Top 10 this week at 2-1 odds. AC is also on Louis this week for an outright that I will also be tailing. He ranks fifth in SG on Par 5s and second is SG Par 4 450-500. Not included in my model but worthy to note, he also leads the Tour in SG Putting inside of ten feet. Putting will be important this week. Pair that with the fact that proximity and scoring is also crucial, his ability to convert these putts will lead to birdies or important par saves.

Corey Conners | Outright +2500 (1 Unit), Top 10 +225 (1 Unit)

I will die on the Corey Conners hill&hellip;.he is a perfect course fit for this week. He ranks sixth in my model and is one of the first guys I think of that has the well-rounded game with driving, approach, ball-striking, and consistent play. &nbsp;He is second in SG BS and sixth in SG Approach. We have already cashed on three of his four Top 10 finishes this year and will be betting on it again this week. As just previously mentioned, Conners has Top 10 finishes at some of the biggest and most stacked tournaments this year at The Masters, The Players, and the API. He is also coming off of back-to-back Top 20 finishes the last two weeks including a T-17 at the PGA Championship.

Phil Mickelson gave us a fantastic PGA Championship &ldquo;defeating father time&rdquo; and capturing his sixth major championship. Phil and Brooks Koepka battled early on the front nine as they traded multiple strokes and the lead went back and forth before Phil took a grasp on the lead and Brooks stumbled mid-way through his round and was not able to recover. DJ was also the first #1 golfer in the world to miss back-to-back cuts at majors since the early 90s. This week we have the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial with some surprisingly big names considering the schedule following a major.

Ancer finished the final round of the PGA Championship with a 65 that was the lowest round of the day and should propel him this week in Texas as the course will be wet and windy. Ancer ranks fifth in my model while ranking first in Good Drives Gained and third in Par 4 scoring from 400-450 yards. Last year he was a T-14 here and his last four starts have yielded a T-8, 2nd, 5th, and T-18. He also had a T-26 in the loaded field at Augusta. I like that he has some great recent form and experience at this course. He has been on the brink of a victory for quite a while now. I am also predicting a slight hangover from the PGA for some of the top guys in the field which leaves Ancer in a prime position to capture a win at Colonial.

Will Zalatoris | Outright +2500 (1 Unit)

AC likes Zalatoris this week and so does my statistical model&mdash;Zalatoris ranks first in my model this week. He ranks second in SG Approach, fourth in Good Drives Gained, sixth in Par 4 Scoring from 400-450 yards, and fourth in Opportunities Gained. He also has a T-8 and outright 2nd place finish at the last two majors as well as a T-17 at the Byron Nelson. He doesn&rsquo;t have tournament experience here but he didn&rsquo;t have tournament experience at Augusta either (where course history is heavily weighed) and he almost claimed the green jacket in his first start. Not having tournament experience here shouldn&rsquo;t hurt him as his game will fit just about any course, especially a course in his hometown. We have seen a lot of great young players capture wins over the last couple of years and Zalatoris can be the next one on the list.

Chris Kirk | Top 10 +450 (2 Units)

Chris Kirk ranks eighth in my model this week including ranking first in Par 4 Scoring from 400-450 yards. He has missed the last two cuts, including at the PGA Championship, but had a T-7 at RBC Heritage a few weeks ago. He has finished just outside of the Top 10 in two of his last starts here with a T-11 and T-15 in 2018 and 2016, respectively. Kirk is great on these shorter courses and I can see him hitting greens and scoring on Par 4s on this Par 70 track.

PGA Expert Picks: Charles Schwab Challenge

We have the second major of this year at the Ocean Course at Kiaweh Island for the PGA Championship. We are nearing the half-way mark of the season and we have plenty of bets and picks this week for the BetKarma community! The name &ldquo;Ocean Course&rdquo; is a little misleading as water only comes into play on a few holes on the back nine of the course. Being able to gain strokes off the tee and hit fairways will be big this week as the course has been lengthened to about 7,900 yards. These golfers don&rsquo;t want to be hitting approach shots from 200+ out of the rough and limit their scoring opportunities on these long Par 4s. Seven of the Par 4s measure 450+ yards so proximity and strokes gained on Par 4s will also be critical this week. Just a quick note&mdash;the 2012 PGA Championship was played here at the Ocean Course where Rory McIlroy won by eight strokes at 13-under par.

Sam and I both agree on our favorite outright bet: Daniel Berger. Berger has the great all-around game that you want when competing at a major event. I watched almost every minute of the final two rounds of the Byron Nelson last week and hardly noticed his quiet T-3 finish. In great recent form, has already won this year, and has eight Top 20 finishes dating back to December including a T-3, T-13, T-18, and T-9 in four of his last five starts. He ranks fourth in my model this week including ranking third in SG OTT, seventh in Bogey Avoidance, and nineteenth in SG Approach. He has consistent game and can find success off of the tee that should translate to a strong performance.

Conners is a statistical beast when you are looking for a golfer that can strike the ball and find success on approach. Conners ranks first in my model this week. He also has three Top 15 finishes in his last five starts including a Top 10 at the only other major played so far this season at Augusta as well as a seventh place finish at The Players&mdash;the two biggest tournaments and stages so far this season.

PGA Expert Picks: PGA Championship

This week is the Byron Nelson. It&#39;s&nbsp;right up the road and north from where I live in McKinney, Texas at TPC Craig Ranch. This is the first year that the event will be played at Craig Ranch, so course history will not be as important or have as much weight this week. I may not have even broken 90 when I played here last summer so my input having played the course won&rsquo;t help either. Although it is a new course, I still expect birdies and low scoring to be crucial. Historically, the scores have been low here even after the tournament changes venues a few years ago.

We are back at it this week after the team event last week at the Zurich Classic. It ended up being an exciting finish with Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen going to a playoff with Cam Smith and Marc Leishman with the latter prevailing victorious. I like the value here for Conners that checks all of the boxes here at Innisbrook. He almost went wire-to-wire back in 2018 before falling on Sunday, and finishing T-16. His last six starts have yielded four top ten finishes. Conners ranks fourth in SG T2G, fifth in SG Approach, fourth in SG OTT, and has great course history here as well.

Jason Kokrak | Outright +3500 (1 Unit), Top 10 +300 (2 Units)

Kokrak&rsquo;s most recent performance at the Masters was a bit underwhelming but it was a major with a stronger field. I like Kokrak&rsquo;s odd even with Dustin Johnson and Justin Thomas both teeing it up this week in a weaker field. Kokrak is only a few weeks removed from a top ten finish at The Players and we get him this week at 35-1 odds. He ranks inside the top ten for SG Short Game, and top 20 in SG T2G, BS, and OTT. I like his value this week and will also being laying a couple of units on a top ten finish.

I have rose in my other outright bet considerations. He has been playing well lately with a seventh place finish at The Masters and a T-11 last week at the Zurich Classic. I know that the Zurich is not a great indication of typical stroke play events but he still played well nonetheless and has three Top Ten finishes at Copperhead. His odds seem too good considering some of the caliber of golfers with shorter odds ahead of him.

Steven's PGA Bets: RBC Heritage

Master&rsquo;s week is upon us and it feels great to have it back in April this year. A big story line coming into this week is the off-the-course situation with Tiger Woods and his car accident following the Genesis Invitational. It would have been great to see him be able to tee it up this week and compete for another green jacket, but we will have to wait until next year to see him at Augusta again. Jordan Spieth won the Texas Open last week which is the exact form I would like to see him in coming into the Masters where he has had a great, and not so great, history. There are plenty of high caliber golfers in the Tour&rsquo;s first major of the year. It guarantees to be an exciting week!

He isn&rsquo;t exactly popping off the stat model but he has two top five finishes in the last three years and has finished T-17 and T-11 in his last two events which was the Players and the WGC Mexico&mdash;both were stacked fields. He loves putting on bentgrass and seems like a great opportunity for him this week.

Ranking ninth in my model this week is the Canadian, Corey Conners. Ranks top ten in three of the four key statistical categories and had a top ten finish here last year. Recent form? Yeah, he has that, too. T-14 last week at Valero, solo seventh at The Players, and a solo third at the API. Great form, good tournament history, and popping in the stats&mdash;check. 80-1 odds seems like a steal here.

One of the best and hottest players in the world. JT ranks fourth in my model which isn&rsquo;t surprising. As long as he plays like he has been recently where he won The Players and had a T-15 at WGC Mexico, I don&rsquo;t see how he doesn&rsquo;t finish in the Top 10 here this year.

I expect him to play well this week and like his odds at 25/1.

I love Ryan Moore this week. This tournament just feels like the type of tournament where we usually see guys like Ryan Moore play well and compete late in the afternoon on Sunday. He missed the cut at the Honda Classic but did post a T-35 at The Players in a stacked field. This week will be anything but a stacked field. Ranks in the Top 20 in my model and has finished in the Top 10 in the last two years at this tournament.

We have an exciting format this week with the Dell Match Play in Austin, Texas. As a native Texan, I would suggest if you were ever wanting to take a trip and experience a fun city and also be able to attend a golf event, you should definitely put this tournament in Austin on your list. Austin is a unique city that offers just about anything you can think of.&nbsp;The Austin Country Club is one of the more beautiful courses in the South from start to finish.

This will be a more abbreviated article due to the nature of the tournament but the usual steps have been taken including assessing key stats, course/tournament history, as well as analysis of each bracket.

Bryson DeChambeau | Outright +1500 (1 Unit)

Not a surprising pickhere but I can see match play being the perfect format for Bryson. We have seen other long hitters and good putters do well here in the past. Bryson is going to be able to take chances with driver on some of these holes without fear of carding a big number since it is match play. I expect to see him take some risks and put the pressure on his opponents when his drives go 50+ yards further than his competition.

Paul Casey&nbsp;| Outright +2600

This was one of the first guys that I was waiting to see his odds for this week. I watched him play in this event two years ago and this should fit him well. I also like the chances of him advancing out of his group. Webb is in his group but Webb hasn&#39;t been great in this event in the past and hasn&#39;t been doing much recently for me to think that he is going to turn it around this week.&nbsp;

Sergio Garcia | Outright +4500

Sergio has been playing well lately and should have slight advantage considering he lives in Austin and has played well in the past here notching two Top 10s the last two years. I like the odds here. He is in a group with Hatton and Westwood but we saw Westwood fall off a little last week and one would think the fatigue of so many consecutive tournaments will set in eventually. Hatton has played well here the last three years finishing no worse than T-17 but I&#39;ll take Sergio&#39;s odds here over Hatton.

Kevin Kisner | Outright +7000

Kiz may not be in the best recent form but he has finished 1st and 2nd here the last two years. The guy loves match play. His biggest threat here, obviously, is JT being in the same group. But it isn&#39;t like JT has dominated match play in the past. His best finish was 4th in 2018 and hasn&#39;t finished better than T-24 in the other three starts including a T-39 and T-61 in 2017 and 2016, respectively.

One of my favorite golfers and a guy that is absolutely popping in all key stats this week is Russell Henley. Ranks first in my model and ranks inside the Top 20 for all key stats including first in SG Approach. Course and tournament history? Yeah, he&rsquo;s got that, too. He won this tournament in 2014 and recorded an 8th place finish here last year. With the WGC and Masters coming up and considering the weaker field, this seems like a place for a guy like Henley to come out and win.

Patton Kizzire | Outright +7500 (1 Unit), Top 20 +300 (1 Unit)

There were a few guys I was considering putting here but I wanted to go with a little more of a dark horse with some nice odds, so I am going to roll with Kizzire. If you&rsquo;re familiar with Patton Kizzire, he is a guy that can compete with the best when his irons are hot. He has two PGA Tour wins and hot a hot ending and beginning to the 2020-2021 season where he finished inside the Top 25 in four tournaments including a T-7 earlier this year at the Sony Open. He just had a T-35 last week at The Players in a much stronger field so I will roll the dice at 75-1 to win and should finish in the Top 20. He&rsquo;s 32nd in my model but in the Top 20 in SG Par 4 and BoB Percentage. His best finish here is a T-26 in 2016&mdash;I expect him to post his best finish here this time around.

He ranks 20th in my model including ranking 8th and 6th in SG Approach and SG Ball Striking, respectively. I like his chances of posting a Top 10 this week.

Well, we weren&rsquo;t able to hit on an outright bet for the first time in three weeks. We did hit a Will Zalatoris top-20 finish at +150 as he finished T-10, as well as hitting on 3 of 4 head-to-head matchups.

This week the Tour will play the unofficial fifth major as TPC Sawgrass plays host to the Players Championship. The infamous Pete Dye Course is highlighted by the challenging 17th and 18th holes and will challenge the top golfers in the world as 49 of the Top 50 will be participating this week.

He also ranks 1st in my model this week including ranking inside the Top 10 of three of the four key stats.

Ranking 2nd in my model this week is Russell Henley ranking in the Top 7 in three of the four key stats. He hasn&rsquo;t had much success in the past here at TPC Sawgrass but his stats and odds are too much to overlook. If Henley sticks to his game by keeping the drives in play and his approach shots on the green then there&rsquo;s no reason he can&rsquo;t be in the mix on Sunday.

Hidkei has a great all-around game that can make him competitive at any course. He was the first round leader last year after shooting an opening round 63 before COVID led tournament officials to cancel the rest of the tournament. He has finished in the Top 20 in his last two starts and is starting to warm up. He also has two Top 10 finishes at the Players&mdash;I expect to see the same here this week.

I hit this bet last week and I am doubling down this week. He has eight Top 20 finishes dating back to the US Open last September. More recently, he has Top 20 finishes in four of his six starts this year. He also ranks 14th in my model this week and is killing it SG Approach and Ball Striking over his last 50 rounds.

Make that two weeks in a row that we have hit on the outright winner! Last week Colin Morikawa was our first outright bet suggested at 46-1 odds and he prevailed over the field relatively easy compared to Max Homa&rsquo;s win two weeks ago that we also alerted in BetKarma. We also hit three of the four head-to-head matchups.

Admittedly, I am not too familiar with Cam Davis. However, my model ranks him first and he ranks inside the Top 10 of all but one key stat including first in BoB Percentage and third in SG Par 5. From my research, I do not see that he has ever competed at Bay Hill but his stats and odds are hard to over look at 80-1. Especially in a field where maybe some of the top golfers are already looking forward to the Player next week. I&rsquo;ll put a wager on an outright as well as a Top 20 finish.

Sam Burns | Outright +4500 (1 Unit)

&nbsp;

AC has been on this guy since last week in the Premium Golf Discord chat and for good reason. Burns has made the cut in his last four starts including a solo 3rd place finish at the Genesis in his most recent start. He ranks second in my model by ranking first in Opportunities gained, second in SG Par 5s, and fifth in Birdie-or-Better percentage. He has made the cut here in his last three appearances but hasn&rsquo;t finished better than T-36 last year. However, the field is a little weaker this week and Burns is playing at a higher level than he has in quite some time.

Viktor Hovland | Outright +1200 (1 Unit), Top 5 +275 (1 Unit)

&nbsp;

When I look for value bets I tend to stay away from the guys at the top just because of the odds that you typically get at that level. But Hovland could have won the tournament last week if it wasn&rsquo;t for a quadruple bogey and a few other bad holes. He has been playing at an elite level and ranks third in my model while ranking in the top 20 in all key stat categories. At 12/1 in this field, I will have a wager on Hovland this week.

Hasn&rsquo;t been a popular guy to bet on in recent history but he has elite course history at Bay Hill. He has a five Top 10s, seven Top 25s, and only missed the cut twice in eleven starts. He hasn&rsquo;t played on the tour in a while but, for what it&rsquo;s worth, he is ranking first in my model in SG Approach and is inside the Top 50 overall in my model. At these odds to finish Top 20, I&rsquo;ll take it.

Going back to the well on this one. Barely missed a Top 20 finish last week but I think he gets it done this week. An exciting end to the Genesis invitational saw Max Homa beat Tony Finau in a two hole playoff. This included Homa missing a three-foot putt for birdie and the win on 18 and then hitting a miraculous second shot on the first playoff hole before making par on the second hole and beating Finau.

There is not much course history to be found for any of these players at Concession as there are no result records on the PGA Tour website and this course has not played host to this tournament or any other PGA event in quite some time.

Collin Morikawa | Outright +4650 (1 Unit)

Morikawa&rsquo;s approach game is going to help him this week at the WGC. He is 7th in my model and is currently 1st in SG Approach over the last 50 rounds. He putted horrendously last week&mdash;if he can turn it around, even slightly, then he should be competitive this week and have a chance on Sunday. His proximity and SG ARG are also elite.

Cam Smith | Outright +6000 (1 Unit), Top 10 +350 (1 Unit)

I placed a bet on him earlier this week for the Masters and will double down on him to win this week. He looked good at Genesis last week and has been playing well in Europe recently. He ranks 10th in my model and is Top 20 in three of the five key stats that I am looking at this week. He takes advantage of Par 5s which is going to play a factor this week as many of the Par 3s measure well over 200 yards and will likely be played over par. Not quite popping in every key stat but still 8th in Bogey Avoidance and Top 20 in SG Approach and SG ARG. He also loves putting on Bermuda and playing in Florida. He won the Honda Classic last year in Palm Beach and is coming off a couple of weeks rest. He should be focused this week.

Will Zalatoris | Top 20 +150 (1 Unit)

Zalatoris has three Top 20 finishes in his last four starts and is in the Top 10 in the field in SG Approach and Proximity over the last 50 rounds. He also ranks 12th in SG Par 5s, which as mentioned earlier, will come into play this week. I&rsquo;ll take him to finish Top 20 this week.

This week is the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. The weather forecast is shaping up nicely and should present pristine golf conditions for the tournament this week. We get to watch a stacked field this week as seven&nbsp;of the top 10, and 30 of the top 50 golfers will tee it up this week for a chance at 550 FedEx Cup points, and&nbsp;more than $1.5 million payout to the winner.

Matt Kuchar Outright: +12500 (1 Unit)

I know Kuch has not been in the best form lately (T42 and MC) but he loves Riviera and could get back on track this week. Riviera is a course that doesn&rsquo;t necessarily require dominate length off the tee and where shorter hitters have found success in the past. Shorter hitters can set themselves up for advantageous approach shots to these hard-to-hit greens. Kuchar has played well here in the past, including a T-8 in 2016 and a T-2 last year. If you remember, Kuchar nearly went wire-to-wire last year as he held the lead through the first three rounds before shooting a 1-over fourth round and Adam Scott claiming a two-stroke victory.

Brooks Koepka Outright: +2500 (1 Unit)

I can get a recent #1 golfer in the world only two weeks removed from a come-from-behind victory at 25-1? I&rsquo;ll take it. His best finish at this tournament is a T-43 last year but longer hitters will have an overall advantage at this course. Koepka&rsquo;s Strokes Gained Approach and SG: T2G in his victory at the Waste Management Open are hard to overlook, as both of those metrics should come into play this week.

Xander Schauffele Top 10: +138 (1 Unit)

Riviera requires a full arsenal of skill from tee to green. Xander has the distance, the ball striking, the hot putter, and has not finished outside of the Top 17 since the U.S. Open. He also has not finished outside of the Top 5 in his last three starts, which includes two runner-up finishes at the Waste Management Phoenix Open and the Farmers Insurance Open. His best finish in this tournament was 9th in 2018 followed by 15th and 23rd place finishes in 2019 and 2020, respectively. However, his form and performance this year has been superb and he thrives in tournaments where the strength of competition is elevated. If you like narratives, then the California-Native from La Jolla should be a strong bet this week. (also consider a Top 5 finish at +300)

Bryson DeChambeau Top 10: +164 (1 Unit)

I know I&rsquo;m not breaking news here by telling you that Bryson is good at golf but he does seem relatively under the radar this week compared to some of the other favorites. He finished T-5 last year and it will be very interesting to see how his new approach to the game will correlate to Riviera. He hits the ball a mile which should help tremendously this week. I think a Top 10 finish is easily attainable if he gets his putter rolling again. Luckily for Bryson, he gets Poa greens this week that should help him turn around some of his recent putting woes.

Max Homa Top 5: +1100 (1 Unit)

This is more of a gut call than anything on Homa &nbsp;(another local native) this week. He has a good all-around game and comes into this week following a T-7 finish at Pebble Beach and he loves putting Poa. Homa also had a T-5 at the Genesis last year and has improved his strokes gained on approach and T2G since then.

Cameron Tringale Top 20: +275 (2 Units)

One of my favorite bets this week is Tringale to finish Top 20. He has finished Top 20 once in his last five events including a third place finish at the RSM Classic in November and a T-7 last week at Pebble Beach. His last three starts at the Genesis have been a T-30, MC, and T-8. It is important to note that Tringale has an extensive Riviera course history since he did compete in the Northern Trust when it was hosted at Riviera from 2011-2016. During that time he racked up four Top 25 finishes including a T-12 in 2014.
